That fly-by starting @ 1:30....wow! Sounds incredible
Awesome!
Nice, the last time I tried something like that with my partner in the car I ended up with a slap and thought the passenger door was going to fall off when she slammed it shut!
Sounds Awesome, thanks for posting By the way, how do you rate the new Toyo R888rs?
She's actually extremely used to it, and loves to go out racing with me. We have a rule that if she says; "get out of it", i get of it, no questions asked (as she may see something I don't).
The R888R's are awesome thus far. I haven't tracked the car yet so can't speak for them there, but on the street they are excellent. Come up to temperature quickly, and even when they spin (in 1st), its very progressive and easy to pedal. I like them a lot.
Will keep that in mind Scot
New setup sounds good. Like the extensions and they seem like they would provide some cover for the 1.0 pieces if you scraped
I like your 5th gear. drive.gif
That sounds insane! Great rumble at the low end, and pure awesomeness at the top!!
Hi. Bump.
A little impromptu office lunch run...
A trip to Costco, where an older gentlemen made it a point to walk a quarter mile across the parking lot to compliment me on my "beautiful corvette";
Still taking proper care of the paint, and putting the help to good use
Story of my life;
Still visit Mexico when the itch beckons..
Still take beauty shots when I go for a random drive in the middle of the night...
Slithering into cars & coffee...
Going for a drive to nowhere with some friends...
And the first sticker I've ever put on a vehicle, but well deserved for all the support they provide me;
A little afternoon with a buddy terrorizing the streets of the Heights;
Are those the Matte black Sidewinders or the Hyper black? This car is just beautiful!!
Very nice but I'm sure everyone wants to see your most recent videos!
I don't post them here as I tire of listening to the preaching, but they are all on my channel (www.youtube.com/sneakysnakes).
Car getting aligned to TA specs (at Viper Exchange) before a track day;
Heading out to the track with the misses. Both cars loads of fun in their own respect :thumbup:
Rolling up to the track with laser focus (haha)...
In the paddock;
Car behaves absolutely admirably on track. There is stupendous grip, especially on exit, and the car just plants and goes under throttle when you learn to trust it post apex. Brakes are phenomenal as well, although I've noticed that you really have to be IN the pedal on these cars, there is not a lot of that overly sensitive initial bite you usually get on most street cars. The overall capability of the car exceeds my current driving ability, and I'm working myself up to driving the car at its limit (I feel it will be a LONG time before I'm using the car 9-10/10ths). With our other cars I can hop in and just FLOG them around the track, easily building to their limits and dancing the car on its adhesion limits. In the snake, its literally like strapping yourself into a racecar, but minus the racing driver abilities LOL. This car is probably faster in a straight line than most ALMS race cars, and with the current heads/cam setup there is so much power on the straights I'm literally running over people on track.
Long story short, every time I strap up into this car for a track day, it humbles me, and I yearn for a dedicated (cheap) race car that I can flog at will; hopefully bringing myself up to the point where I'm not afraid to drive the Viper flat out. The car still intimidates me on track, and I love it.
We have been chasing an intermittent ignition problem that's been rearing its head from time to time ever since I bought the car. Seems every few weeks or so I'd start to have a hesitation at high rpms that would turn into a coil/wire replacement. Turns out it wasn't the coils, it was the shitty oem wires all along. I guess they just can't handle the heat coming off the Belanger primaries, worse yet, they don't show any physical signs of damage which makes diagnosing issues a PITA. I will go ahead and say if you've stepped away from the OEM headers (and their heat shielding), upgrade the wires, period.
Got a set of real wires with proper impedance and thermal heat shielding from AB (www.qualitywires.com). Holy crap what a difference. There is a torque/smoothness in the part throttle driveability that wasn't present before, and the car pulls like a freight train to fuel cut.
We also dropped in a set of one range colder NGK iridiums with a slightly tighter gap than oem (~.040"), to keep the plugs happy during the upcoming 1/2 Mile event. Should of done this a long time ago. Car is running at its best currently.
Did a post-track oil/filter change while we were in there too;
Man.... you're the MAN lol
Alex you have a PM.
