    Stryker Purple

Do we know how many Stryker Purple Vipers were made?

  2. #2
There was a post a while back with some tentative numbers for 2016 and 2017. Doubt it was complete as they are still building. I would be curious as I have two-one almost finished...Scott

    I...need...one!

I started tallying them up a while back, and I got to 13 before information stopped coming in. Here's the thread on it:

My understanding is that there are no more in the queue at Prefix, and mine just went into engine/chassis (got some pics last week). I'm sure there are a few more of them out there, but my guess is that the total production for all years is around 20.

Bad ass paint job. What does prefix charge for it? 6k?

Believe you are correct in that there are no more being done ( other than the ones currently in the build process ) , as last orders for Vipers cut off all Stryker Colors. We did a couple of late in Plum Crazy and one other purple ( sold car not here yet ), but overall since the color came out I would imagine there were not many more than 20-30 done. We did two of the three built in 2015 , and then some more in 2016 , but only one in 2017. Have to believe the $8900 price was something some folks questioned, but like many of the Stryker colors , there will not be many made , so that should help a lot in the long run?!

I gotta say - the $8900 price tag for that paint was a tough one to swallow... What's a little confusing with it is that I thought it would be a three-stage paint process and that was why it was so expensive, but from watching the pics in the 1 of 1 portal, it didn't look much different than the regular process. Could be my ignorance on that, though - I'm not an expert in that area by any means.

It is a cool color, though. Not sure the $8900 price tag will translate to added value later on (except maybe if someone crashes theirs and the insurance adjuster takes it into consideration). I do think they'll be a desirable bunch going forward, though. Not planning on ever selling mine, so that point is moot.

Plum Crazy went to Colorado , and I don't seem to have any pics of it - sorry. Good place to always check , though, is at www.woodhousemotorsports.com or Woodhouse Motorsports Division on Facebook, as Mark Jorgensen takes a lot of photos of cars we get in.

Nice, I like it. Any pictures with the sun hitting it so we can see the metallic shine?

I'd love to see plum crazy purple and stryker purple side by side. Of course, I may not totally love it because the Plum Crazy color is really nice - and I might get buyer's remorse on the Stryker color. I really dig how the white stripes set off the purple. The black stripes look cool, too, but the white really makes it pop. I'm wondering how mine, with the black and the red driver's stripe is going to come together. In theory it should be kick-ass, but you never know until it's born...

Here's the closest I have to a "born" car so far:

Very nice color. The black color transitions into the purple very nicely. I chose Plum Crazy for three reasons: 1) cost - I just couldn't justify the extra cost of the Stryker Purple. 2) Like the old school color from the 70's. 3) Have as GTS-R Blue SRT and under certain lighting the Stryker Purples has a lot of blue hues to it. You did great by choosing the Plum Crazy Purple...no regrets on my side.

Also, the stripes on the ACR are Silver (from the 2004 MY). I wanted white, but the boss (wife) wanted silver. She did not like 2017 silver said it was too dark.

Plum Crazy is definitely a lighter purple than the Stryker and should be quite difficult to find one as it was a custom color and from what we were told only a very few were done( maybe 6?). Stryker, due to the layering , has that depth and shadowing reminiscent of colors done this way. Both are striking , but surprisingly different when compared . There are other purples folks have chosen , so it should keep the Purple People interested for a long time , as these two color options ( Stryker and Plum Crazy ) were not the only ones chosen.

Found there may be a few more Plum Crazy cars done , as once the blockage of Stryker Purple occurred , a few orders took Plum Crazy instead -- changed the number above.

Stryker Purple has a "liquid" look to it nothing like any purple you have ever seen. Specks of light red and blue can also be seen in certain light but not predominant. It has depth...You just have to see it up close it's very unique...Worth the $8900 IMO...

God that Plum Crazy is stunning. The Stryker Purple of course is beautiful as well, as all the Stryker colors are absolutely incredible. I wanted to do a 1of1 Viper in the 2006 Pontiac GTO Brazen Orange color. I saw this Viper for sale last year and if it isn't Brazen Orange, it's really damn close. But it had tan seats in it, which looked pretty ugly with the rest of the combo. Plus wasn't looking for stripes either. I'm extremely happy with my Adrenaline Red though, which was always my goto color on the Viper.

I'd love to see more pics though, of both the Stryker Purple and Plum Crazy. Especially with them in the sunlight. Really makes the colors pop.
