    2003-2010 Viper Short Shifter Knob Install

    1. Push leather boot down the original shifter shaft.

    2. Place a 16mm and 19mm wrench and remove original shaft. Use a towel to protect bezel and remove original knob.

    3. Install short knob using the same 16mm and 19mm wrench.

    4. Pinch both sides of the leather boot with your fingers and gently lift up the shifter shaft.

    5. New knob has been installed. Enjoy !!!!

    Did the same mod when I had the previous gens. Never got used to the 3 foot tall shifter, this was one of the easy and generally worthwhile mods to do.

    In the process of doing this now. Just waiting for the replacement to arrive, damn supply chain!

    It seems one can keep their original shift knob and still lower it!
