With so many companies making all these products, it's hard to choose which to try for comparisons without getting a whole whack of them... Ceramic coatings / Carnaubas / Sealants / Poly waxes etc
Agreed. Want to know what is the current state of the art for a 2017. Not sure I want a film/coating. Current cars I use Zaino.

I've bought some expensive high-end waxes, including Souveran, and I've found that I like Meguiars Utimate just as much. I usually do two coats of Ultimate for protection followed by a final coat of Souveran.
A fairly neutral detailing site with tons of info http://www.autogeek.net
I was a long time Zaino user but just added a ceramic coating. I put on Wolfgang Uber ceramic.
thanks,

I went to advance today to get Meguiars Ultimate wax (for my trucks and daily driver)...and Griots Best of Show Carnauba (for the viper and other play cars)....last bottle of griots was on a clearance table for $5.25!
I waxed my Golf R with the Meguiars today, and I've gotta say even in some Orlando sun, it went on with my orbital, and by hand, and wiped off amazing and easy... no residue, no need for a detailer to remove film, and the car is gleaming! Worth the $20 for a daily driver. May try some more expensive coatings for the viper, but gonna give the Griots a shot when I get home.
I'll add that waxes and many detailing products, are sometimes HALF of the cost at home in Canada. Meguiars down here was $19...at home it's $38...gold class here $11...$25 at Canadian tire for same bottle, and Griots is almost none existent.... WTF
Meguiar's ultimate wax, often. I like to keep things simple and the results are amazing.

Adam's and Surf City Garage ( Surf City has the best Leather Cleaner/Conditioned I have ever found! )
Long time Meguiar's user, I have a black Viper and the Gold Class Carnauba Wax does well on Black. However, just tried the Surf City Black Edge Detailer and very impressed with results, no smearing or streaking. Look forward to try out their wax next. Nothing compares to the results of a DA buffer.

My personal experience...
I tried Mothers California Gold Carnauba wax. The red had deepness to it but I thought it didn't last long. I wash my car almost everytime I come back from a ride and found that the Carnauba wax was loosing its lust, dept and beading effect very fast.
Now, you can laught if you want but I tried (and still use) good old Turtle wax Super Hard Shell.
Love the result, easy to apply, last all summer (with some help of Turtle wax wax&dry).
Inner wheel well are done with WD40 and for the black plastics, I use Meguiar's ultimate protectant (which I don't really like and am looking for another product when the bottle is finished)
My Viper is not a garage queen, is driven close to 6000km per summer in all kinds of weather but still looks very good (I would give it a 8.5/10).
Is the ZFX a hardener that works with all waxes??
On a car with stripes.....When applying wax or polishing with an orbital, is there any precautions i should take? Should i go over the stripes and paint like usual, or should i be more careful and machine up to the stripes on paint, and then machine the stripes separately? any advise?
