Front Fascia and Aero Removal Gen IV ACR

2009 ACR. Any advice removing the front fascia and then removing the aero from the fascia? Taking the fascia and hood in for a respray. Also need to remove the honeycomb from the hood vents, any advice there? Seems like the plastic fasteners may have to be drilled out. Thanks for he help!

Can't help with the aero parts, but can with the hood vents.

For those, go for a nice long drive (or just let the car warm up in the driveway so it is nice and heat soaked). Open the hood, and use one hand to apply pressure from the top while you pull gently from the bottom...the vents are held in place by a bunch of push pins (I call them Christmas tree plugs), so they'll pop out with a little heat and some persuasion. I'd highly recommend putting some towels down over the entire engine bay to catch any clips that fall (and they will).

I've also seen folks advise not reusing the push pins. You can find them online in bulk for a pretty reasonable price here: http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Wea...pas5609-50.htm

    Hope that helps.

Good advice from Steve on the vents. Just remember to go slow.

Awesome, thanks guys. That definitely takes care of the hood vent issue, and I appreciate the link to new fasteners.

Like steve said thats the best way to remove. But make sure u press down on the screens as close to the edges/push pin as possible to not crack the thin honey comb vents. I reused my push pins and they worked perfect minus the 10 i lost lol
If you lose any let me know and ill find the extras i had left from buying bulk and send them to ya
