Yep. Bill, you and Mark know my friend Jon who bought the ACR from you last year. P-Car and F-car guy through and through, and he still states the Viper one of the best, if not the best, car he has tracked. He just took delivery of a new GT3-RS (in Ultraviolet, similar to Plum Crazy). Guess what car he'll be tracking this season - yep, the ACR!

We have 56 of the 100 GTS-Rs, with 20 or so having already arrived. The GTS-R you say has been "sitting for weeks" is a representative of the few remaining slots we have for incoming Editions. Hence the call to action. That specific Viper sold the very day it was listed.

Hey, who said it was ok to post accurate information? This is the Internet for Pete's sake, and the gen5 forum to boot, cut that while fact thing out.

Dodge was generous with the number of these they've made available, which is pretty cool, IMO the only reason they're "around" for sale is the volume, as they're made and we go along these I'm sure will sell out easily.

In talking to a few folks who bought or are shopping the spec editions, only feedback I hear is they seem to wish Dodge had done the full stereo and carpet on them. Folks who want the stereo are reluctant to mod a spec edition in any way, so kind of a challenge between making a change to it vs the 3 speaker system. Small nit to pick though for some neat models.

Personally i don't like the LE models all that much - the nicest is the GTS-R imo but the options aren't all that - i'd want a bespoke interior and all CF upgrades...glad i went 1 of 1 and got exactly what i wanted - perfect candidate for the program.

So there are still some available at 10K over sticker, same point. One poster above said his "friend" paid 175K for a used one which was to suggest they were unobtainable.

Since order banks went on hold in October our call volume has been through the roof. As an enthusiast, it's such a wonderful thing to see these cars getting the attention, and buying numbers, they have deserved all along.

If you notice, I'm not on the forums unless I need to be! I think we all wish they would have done the 18-speaker instead of 12. But they do have full weight carpet in the cabin and trunk, as well as hoodliners, which many see value in. On the aftermarket side, upgrading from 12 to 18 is an incredible easy install, and one most are taking advantage of.

Too bad you don't follow Woddhouse's model of no ADM's. $10K over sticker...no thanks.

It is a shame to see the final year be the time when everyone wakes up. Dodge never marketed this car correctly. Everything from the pre-sale advertising to the dealership experience was done poorly. Viper could have been a real brand, with concierge service and high end treatment from the moment you walked into a "Viper Certified" store.

Viper could have been like the Magnolia section at Best Buy. You walk in, you meet someone attractive and well dressed, they go over options and you build a special car. Woodhouse and a few select others are obviously the exception, but most Dodge dealers were never capable of satisfying the discriminating needs of a high-end buyer. One look at where Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, et al advertise, and how they advertise, and you can imagine how different this could have gone. Hell, Ford is doing it right now -- with their NFGT ordering guides, concierge phone calls, special gifts, etc. The build up to an actual delivery is massive.

But, even with all of that said, there's also a part of me that sees the silver lining. This may just be the best way to end the story.

Had Dodge become a genuine F-car competitor long ago, the price would have reflected it by now. And, it is unlikely that production would be ending now. The reality is that pricing has stayed low, and the brand has called it quits, because the car was so poorly marketed. I get to buy a bespoke, one of kind, handbuilt car that can demolish $1m+ supercars around a racetrack for $130k. That is an absolute gift, and reflective of a low-demand item.

We were all lucky to see the diamond in the rough when everyone else could not. And, because of that fact, I genuinely believe that this story will end up very, very well when it is finally told in the not so distant future.

I really don't get it. If someone is purchasing an ACR-E then the prime motivation is you want the fastest viper on the track right? Wtf then would anyone want to add weight to the car by sticking 12 or 18 speakers hood liners, heavier carpet etc??? This in my book is anathema. If it were at all possible I would have made the door cards basic, the windows manually operated, delete the stereo altogether, no carpet at all in the cabin and a stripped headlining. I would have then had a roll cage if possible too. That would be my perfect ACR-E. If you wanted the less track focused vipers then by all means put all the bells and whistles you want.....

I respect your position, so long as you respect ours. That's the joy of a free market, a product is worth what someone is willing to pay. While that buyer may not be you, there are many collectors and other enthusiasts willing to do so. When the 2017 GTS-R was announced as a commemorative edition we quickly sold over 2/3 of our orders in a couple of days. As the order banks went on hold back in the fall, and now officially closed to ACRs, the number of available Vipers are becoming fewer by the day and hour. The market is always the driver for pricing, and currently demand highly exceeds supply. I have a lot of respect for both Bill and John with their business practices and have always been supportive of their efforts long before joining ViperExchange. But, it's also important to acknowledge that everyone here at the sponsor level is supportive of the club based on the amount of business we are each able to produce. ViperExchange sponsored the Raffle car for the last NVE, as well as monetary donations to the event, not to mention yearly contributions to the national and local chapters. We are ONLY able to do so by having a vast, supportive, customer base. Whether you are for or against a free market economy, it's helped all of us get to enjoy what we do the most, Viper.

You mean they acquired over half of the available GTS-R ACRs and are tacking more onto them above sticker?

Personally I completely agree. But considering the car is done, I think it's too much to ask of Dodge to make something more 'different' than they did. At least they did something and I give them props for at least that, and they're getting love now, so it worked.

Sorry...not drinking your Kool Aid. I'm just one of those people that would never buy from a dealer charging ADM, no matter the reason. It's your choice to do so, but trying to convince me of the reasons why is pointless. Good luck with your ADM's.

Free market? Respectfully there is no free market to buy these cars. Dealers have a monopoly ordering from the factory.

I am disappointed VE has gone this route. I've bought from VE before and recommended plenty of people.

You guys are funny. Be appreciative there's only a handful of cars going above MSRP and for 5-10k. Here's a link to every Canadian car for sale atm, all are listed 15-40k above MSRP for non SE cars, and one SE car ??60k?? above MSRP. If that's any indication, I think spending 10k above MSRP for a GTS-R is a no brainer. We're in the middle of winter, take a guess at what the demand will be like April through the summer.
