Does anyone out there know where I can get some chrome climate control knobs other than the ridiculous price the viper store has them at. Thanks. They must fit a Gen 1.

I do not know the specific answer to your question. However, I have a 2003 Jeep TJ with an extremely similar appearing climate control panel. I wouldn't be surprised that the knobs are compatible. If you want me to make some measurements that you can compare yours to, it would be easy for me to do.
I don't remember anyone ever posting that this was an option; but, the following billet aluminum knobs for a Jeep could be something to look into if the knobs are interchangeable.

I like the Jeep knob idea. I had a set of the discontinued Aluminum ones. Some jackalope at Matson Shipping stole the fan speed knob when my car was shipped from Hawaii. They pried off one of my Sneaky Pete wheel center-cap logos too.....Grrrrr....

If I had to take a stab at it I would say Ford Mustang knobs would work. Look extremely identical check it out. Even the positions on the climate selections are almost identical too.
