Recent 1st Time Viper Owner Here

My son recently moved out of my household. Shortly afterward, I started to hear strange sounds while walking through my garage. Sort of whimpering. Eventually, the sounds turned into words. The words became louder and louder. "I'm lonely", "Need Manual". These words started to become impossible to ignore. I realized that the garage was lonely and wanted a manual transmission car to fill the void created by the absence of my son's car. I immediately had to let my wife know about the situation.

I had to ask myself, "If I were going to buy a manual transmission car, which one would it be?" Older 911, C7 Z06, and the Viper were all considerations. I ended up with an Orange TA 1.0. Number 3/93. 1 owner, 3700 miles. All recalls done including R29. It was delivered 4 nights ago. When my wife saw it, she stated it was sexier in person than the pictures. She plans on driving it tomorrow, and I think that she might try to claim this one.

I go to the track a 1/2 dozen times per year, and plan on seeing what this one is like. The Viper guys are pretty fast at the track. Anything that I need to do to for the track? Currently, the car is completely stock. I look forward to learning how to drive this machine! Plan on getting plates: TA-3.

Seems like a cool forum, I have been reading up recently. Looking forward to being part of the community. Attached are some poor iPhone pics the night it was delivered. Everybody here knows what an orange TA looks like.

Thanks for the replies guys. The Viper is completly different than my other cars (huracan and GTR). I thought the Huracan looked great. Now that it sits side by side to the Viper, I think the H looks a little plain! Something about the curves of the Viper look great. Been a while since I drove a manual car and looking forward to getting back into it. I plan on joining the Viper club.

Awesome car. I love the orange TA. Great car. Killer looks. Congrats. That roommate looks pretty awesome too! For the track, proper fluids, tires and race pads. You probably know that already.

Great choice on which manual car to pick - but I may be biased! Congratulations and welcome.

One of my favorites, and my screen-saver for 3 years. Congrats. "ORANGE ya glad ya didn't gitta vette?"

I think that is a big plus for the Viper. I spent a lot of $ on my GT-R to make it track worthy. Needed separate engine and transmission cooler, ducting to brakes, etc. It is a heavy car to stop. interested to see how the TA holds up with just fluids, pads, tires.
