Anyone add sound deadening

Just throwing the idea around about adding sound deadening to my viper. Anyone ever do it? Was it worth the time and money? How good did it work?

I know, added weight, but 50lbs won't do a hill of beans to my 98% driven on the street car.

Ive done the full dynomat inside 5 of my vipers and yes it does make a noticable diff in cabin noise and heat blocking but my current car i went full bore.

Almost every squre inch of my coupe is covered in fatmat even the roof. My car is deathly quite inside. But i also had my full interior wrapped in a padded alcantera at same time so that helped too. But my car has catless m&m, with 3" corsa track so just about as loud as possible but when windows are up total conversation noise level inside. Plus now when i hit a bump in the road there is no sounds coming from the car like every viper does. Its almost like you just climbed 5000' straight up and your ears havent popped yet.
Ive had 2 other viper owners in it and they both mentioned it sounds like their wearing ear muffs.

I dyna-matted the entire interior including the trunk area in my 2008. I did NOT do the inside of the doors or the roof though. 30 lbs is all that it added. Biggest improvement was the heat not getting into the cabin. The noise was a little less, not as much as I hoped for, but noticeable. Drove it from Ohio to New Orleans and back. Could not have been more pleased. Yes I feel it was worth every penny and minute of my time.

One of the 1st mods I am doing on mine. Won't do it until I redo the stereo system (while I have everything out of the car)

It definitely makes a difference for heat and sound. You will use a lot more than you are expecting to. Pretty straight forward job that is a PIA - have plenty of cold beverages handy - your hands and fingers will be sore! I originally did not do my doors - and plan to do the next time I take my doors apart. I think the brand I used was called Rattler - which I thought appropriate for the Viper:

I have a bit of car audio experience, so im used to working with this stuff. It also helps having a heat gun and a lot of patience. This stuff is EXTREMELY sticky so you'll want to take your time in planning where to install it. Again, take your time and be smart about it.

One more thing -- like with anything, you get what you pay for.

There are a lot of "generic" companies out there - stay away from them.

I have used Dynomat before. I think I will get it again since I'm used to it.

For the ultimate in sound deadening and protection you could apply the Dynomat on top of the Second Skin..

This is how I had one of my classic cars done, huge reduction in road noise and was not terrible in price as you already have the car apart for the dynamat.
