I am probably the least qualified here to answer this question...But I do know business and sell only rare collectibles so it comes to supply and demand and general interest. The Viper is a great car with some great history. It's not been around forever but it's made it's mark with track records and so on... Had it not I would say who cares about it's value. But it did and again it's a great car. I have a couple friends who can afford a Bugatti Veyron and they say the Viper is the coolest looking car they have ever seen. I don't have their money but I agree...I can only figure they will go up in value. Some quicker than others, other ones make take a while. Just my two cents...Scott

What they do with the closed plant will show what their long term intentions are.
If the bulldoze it like the St.Louis Plants it's done.
If they long term idle it, the Viper has a future.

It's too expensive to start up a brand new plant that will only build a low volume car.

Dave attacks everyone that happens to think about the value of their car. Don't take it personally. If you really want to get him worked up talk about how much better Blue/white vipers are better than red ones.

Not sure why people get so worked up over this topic. It's part of ownership and what these forums are for. It takes no effort ignore the thread....it takes effort to respond and be a dick to a new member.

For the record, no VOA Club member is giving you a hard time. Forum registration does not equal VOA membership. Dave6666 is notoriously special in an unfortunate way. I'll take some time in a bit to clean up his thread trash for the 100th time.

All that being stated, the topic does happen to be a bit tired (not that you shouldn't feel free to start it up again). But, this being an adult (arguably ) car forum, you shouldn't be surprised or upset by obstreperous responses.

There's always a couple A$$hats in these forums, if you think this was bad, don't go to the Alley. I didn't use the search function that much when I started frequenting the forum, and have learned to do so. In some cases it's a lose/lose. I've searched questions I'd like answered, found the thread, post my question, then get shit because it's an old thread and should not have been brought back up lol

I don't get it either, it takes more effort to open the thread and post something negative. So much easier to just scroll past the thread if you don't like it. I've wondered the same thing, and I am sure the value will slowly begin to rise. I have a 30th Anniv Trans Am with 30k miles on it, value has showed a slight increase in recent years, who knows what they'll bring 15-20 years from now. In the end it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Gen 5 forum as very active. Gen 2 forum has maybe 5 new topics a week. If somebody want to post about car values great! At least it's something....

I think values will climb as they already are. It's one of many reasons I bought my b/w gen 2. It's not THE reason, and I don't mind being wrong. I love having 2 vipers. I let friend drive the Gen 2 with me in the Gen 5 so I can share the hobby. It's a blast!

Resale value on Comp Blue is going to off the charts, all other Vipers will be slightly less. This will happen about 25 years after I'm dead, so I'm going to use the heck out of mine.

Personally I think the yellow ones are going to be worth more. It's a much more flashy color and therefor more people will want it
