    Viper Exchange BBK Review

Just got to use the VE BBK for my first time at Sebring. Ive got an acr that i ordered with steel brakes, which worked perfectly fine with racing pads on track, but putting this kit on was the idea the entire time. First off they look great, the anodized aluminum calipers are machined like stoptech trophy kits to make them as light as possible. Pad changing is as easy as factory brembos, and rotor ring replacements are much cheaper than stock. On track the brakes performed flawless, i wouldnt say that they slow the car down any faster per say with the same pads as the stock setup which i ran all year, but the pedal is much more consistant, and there is no signs of any fade on the brake pedal, and at times i would get a bit of fluid boil in the factory setup running castrol srf, ive recently put front and rear brake ducting on the car so that could be the reason of no boiled fluid. They are more confidence inspiring than the stock setup, i can't really put an exact finger on why, other than a they just work really well, maybe is a placebo effect IDK. There was no pad knockback which i would get at times with the stock setup, but i check the brakes coming out of a turn anyways to reset the pads on long straights. There was never a time i felt i didn't have enough brakes as i pushed a bit deeper and deeper. All in all im very happy with the brake setup.

    Luke,

I've been looking forward to your feedback on these. Confidence is everything, and rotor replacement costs a factor, so it sounds like a good upgrade. Can you confirm that this is the same VE BBK that has been available for all models for a couple of years, or is it specific to the ACR? Kuno's SRT crew chief recommended them to me in 2014 if the stock TA brakes ever came up short, which I suspect they might if I run a stickier tire.

You and Gary should test your ACR set-ups at Mosport this summer. I'm 45 minutes from the track and happy to host you guys!

Now all you need is those GTD wheels to drop the rolling mass of the stock wheels

Hey Bruce, these are actually for the non acr hubs, i ordered my car with the steel ta rotors/brakes. Should work for any 2013-17 non acr. I would assume you could flip the rear calipers and use them on any 2003-20010 as well.

Looks like they are sourced from stoptech

They are, the front piston sizes are slightly different than the standard stoptechs for the viper, the rears i believe are the same. Main difference is they say srt on them instead of stoptech. They are also slightly cheaper than the stoptech kit.

Same setup Ron has on his ACR. I'll probably end up going the same route as Gary.

Thanks for the write up Luke. Was looking forward to your feedback. And yes Bruce this is the same kit we have had available for a few years now. I have 8 kits on the shelf ready to ship.

Great setup/kit. I've been very happy with mine as well.
