After having Nth Moto do some work on my old 99 ACR TT and being very pleased with the results, I decided to send them my GEN5 Viper for some go-fast treatment.

I sent the car to them in October and it was ready in December, however due to some issues with my transport carrier and some other out-of-scope items not related to their work I wanted to address while it was there, I did not take receipt of the car until the middle of January. The process, communication and experience was first class just like my initial experience with them on my older Viper. I was always kept informed of where things stood, in the detail that I wanted, which kept me comfortable throughout the entire time it was at their facility.
The idea was simple: to build a fun street car with stock like driving characteristics that would do work on 19s. And that’s exactly what was delivered.

MoTeC wiring under the engine bay

The attention to detail in machining the mounting for the MoTeC wiring harness is one of my favorite aspects of the engine bay. If you didn’t know any better, you would think it’s OEM. That’s exactly the type of fitment I wanted. While its a very minor detail in the grand scheme of things, this is the kind of attention to detail I’ve come to appreciate and expect from Nth Moto.

The “OEM looking” theme continues in the overall engine bay. I have had folks that weren’t Viper/car enthusiasts think my entire engine bay was stock. The quality and finish of the prominently displayed Nth Moto A/W intercooler is amazing. It’s another piece with OEM looks & fitment which really adds a subtle yet sinister look to the engine bay and most importantly facilitates the requisite charge cooling for my current and future HP needs w/o sacrificing any engine cooling ability.
Water Tank

Completing the A/W Intercooler System is the race tank located in the trunk which allows you to pack the water system with ice to really bring those charge temps down if you desire. I however am pretty lazy, and am not #AboutThatLife, so I just leave it filled with water. Even just leaving water in the tank and not servicing it with ice, the IATs stabilize around 100degF in the Southeast heat and barely climb when driving around on the street and while making back to back pulls. While it's designed to hold a decent amount of water/ice, it does not take up a significant amount of trunk space due to being form fitting into the right rear corner of the trunk cavity.

Here is how I change boost. 2 settings for Pump Gas (White), 2 settings for Ethanol (Blue). The best part is the entire enclosure is covered in OEM style texture and finish, not some cheap powder coat or paint. Again, the smallest of details making the biggest of difference.
With those features out of the way, now on to the good stuff, power.
On 91 octane and 10psi the car made 1000whp and on E85 and 11.5psi it made 1125whp. We decided to stop there with the boost/power due to the completely factory long block in the car. The car also loses no power anywhere in the RPM band compared to stock. The system on the car is designed in such a way that if/when I’m ready to go to a built motor program the turbos, fuel, clutch, etc are all ready to go and it’s just a matter of turning up the boost. Let’s see how long until I get bored with the current power and decide to build an engine.
Driving Impressions
As great as it is to have a nice HP output, there are certain aspects that are equally important in a street car. How it starts & drives, how the clutch feels & engages, and the power band while just tooling around on the street are all paramount to an enjoyable driving experience, and the car does not disappoint in any of those segments.

You can see the car fire right up and hold a rock solid idle. If you pay attention, you will also see a very cool feature of the build. When the “+” button is held on the steering wheel, the coolant temp read out changes to Ethanol content! It’s reading off the same sensor the MoTeC uses to do all it’s on the fly tuning changes for Flex Fuel — how cool is that!
The turbo system is so responsive that it makes darting around in traffic really, really fun. No matter what gear and what RPM you are in, it’s “always there” and ready to go when you start applying throttle. This makes it very easy to drive on the street without having to rev the car out at WOT to get moving briskly to pass a car or something like that.
The drivability itself around town is just like stock. Anyone can get in this car and drive it. And with the TC system (which I sometimes turn off for fun ), its is quite safe and predicable even on the higher power settings when hitting the go pedal.
The clutch. The funny thing about the clutch is that when I was first backing the car out of the transporter, I totally forgot the car even had a non-OEM clutch in it! The pedal pressure is very reasonable, the engagement is smooth, and it allows for some very quick shifting when racing.
Now here is a cool story. I took delivery of the car two weeks ago and sent it straight to the fine folks at Shine Auto Salon to detail it and install a clear bra. I got word that a spot had opened up for the WannaGoFast 1/2 mile race in Ocala, FL taking place the following week. So as a last minute decision, I decided to drive the car 500 miles from GA to FL and run in the event. The entire drive down I was taking work related calls on the bluetooth system with the AC blasting and the cruise on. When we got to the track, I put the Ethanol in the car and got it up to E70. First pass out the car ran 185.9. By the end of the day I managed to run 191.8mph in the car, which to date is the fastest recorded speed for a stock motor GEN5 Viper in the 1/2 mi. All of this was done on the 19s. It was so impressive to drive the car that distance, run those numbers, and then drive it to dinner, and then to my parents place in Orlando to go visit them. A true testament to the quality of the build as this all happened a week after I took delivery of the car! Man this thing is so fun!

Summary: I sent Nth Moto my 2015 Viper for a TT setup and the build has exceeded all expectations in terms of quality, performance and drivability. To be able run 191.8mph in the 1/2mi on the 5th pass after driving 500miles is astounding. It makes for such a fun street car that can also do serious work in racing situations as it’s literally a push the start button and go drive type of integration. Nth Moto has really knocked it out of the park with their bolt-on TT kit! But more importantly they created an awesome customer experience for me. The questions they answered pre-sale, to world class support I received after I took delivery of the car, at the Ocala event, and afterwords is second to none. I’m looking forward to continuing to enjoy this car and seeing how it evolves in the future…. with their continued help!
