Integrated Windshield Mirrors on the Concept Viper

Just saw this article and thought it was a pretty cool observation! Integrated mirrors that extend the windshield lines! Pretty damn slick if they had stuck with this although I am sure it may have created some blind spots.

Blind spots and maybe they couldn't be manufactured reliably. The hoods were already a crapshoot coming out of the molds so I could see that being a concern.

Ya gotta admit the viper was as close to concept car as we've probably ever seen

What surprised me the most about the concept car was that it had power windows.

Cool design, as for the power windows, I expect that when the guys got to building the car the ethos was to strip out anything not needed and get back to a no frills top down car like the old Cobra days.

What's even cooler than that is how the headers stick out of the "gills"..

But you put a 92 next to that, and I don't think any concept car has ever been as close to the production car.

I didn't know the original concept had power windows. I learned that on the GTS power windows were lighter than a crank, but a power seat was heavier than manual, so that's part of why they went with them. Aside from trying to tame the viper a bit.

I see why people were grabbing their checkbooks when they say this thing.
