    10 year 100 000 Powertrain Coverage R28 Vehicles

Finally got confirmation that the Powertrain Coverage is transferrable , but it took longer than usual to verify as it definitely stated it was not in the Dealer Connect System. This going to be changed in the near future , and the gentleman who inherited the question was quite polite and apologetic , as he is new in his position. So figured I would just post a separate thread so one did not have to go back and look up the old one , and hopefully this will help remedy some personal sales/trade ins, as well as some new purchases. Problem solved and good news for all!

Awesome! This is great news for shopping in the used market. Does Mopar have an online VIN scan that will pull this up?

No, nor do I imagine they will have any online Vin scan, though once implemented in the system Dealers should be able to see if a specific car is affected. As I mentioned this just occurred and they need to make changes in Dealer Connect ( Franchise Computer system for Sales and Service ) and imagine that will not happen immediately. Will check mine in a couple of days to see if noted.

Warranties do not transfer to Canada or vice versa from Canada to the US.

Bill, is there an option to buy a car from Canada (which is warrantied in Canada) and then have you guys go through it (like an exhaustive certified pre-owned check) and then buy a warranty extension down here from Dodge to have warranty in the US? Always a pay to play but is that possible?

Yeap, my car had the R29 performed but they said the R28 was not required for cars sold in Canada. When we looked up my vehicle in the dealer connect system it had a big red flag and in bold red words said "Canadian Vehicle" and "... US Warranties not applicable for this Vehicle..." So, be careful buying "Export Vehicles" as the US warranties seem to be void on these vehicles if you bring them back to the US!

    Amazing.

Glad to hear that the warranty stays with the car regardless of owner.

As expected Bill, when you say you're going to follow up on something, you MEAN IT! Just like when you called me 6-7 months after I got my pre-owned from you and had right away asked you for help getting me a copy of the window sticker, you followed through on that as well and it appeared! Yes, it actually took Dodge that long to get it for us and Bill kept on it.

It makes sense that the warranty should follow the car. I'm glad you got that confirmation from the powers that be Bill. Great job again!!

No there is not a way to get warranty as technically the car coming from Canada is a gray market car, just like one from here going there is considered the same - regardless that all are made in Detroit.

Great news! Now how does this play out if there was evidence of an Arrow controller thrown in the mix? Is there any more leniency being noted in this regard?

From my experience they have stated they will review on a case by case basis rather than the previous flat out denial for the controller.
