We just signed up. Looking forward to checking it off the bucket list.
From 2 years ago...
Up early, couldn't sleep.
Counting curves, instead of sheep.
Three hundred eighteen, to be exact.
We're ready to go, we're already packed!
The Tail of the Dragon, a VOA Bucket List,
We must be getting close, our Viper is starting to HISS!
Owners are coming, from near and from far,
To be together, because of a car!
This year marks an Anniversary,
With so many Vipers, more than the eye can see.
So, if you are prepared, for a drive not to be missed.
You must have checked off
"ToDo" on your Bucket List

DRIVE ON
A rambling racing man i know, took to the track to have a go
Found mirror image not his thing, as he sped around that ring.
One day discovered road folklore, 'tis said The Dragon offers more',
Now one his heart and mind shall be, as he chases curves for free.
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, I pray your destiny is not to spin
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, against the curvy roads you now call kin.
Some ascend to meet the day, others spend their nights in play
I can't speak to which is best, all i see is asphalt quest.
There has rarely been a time, when my tires have not kept line.
So i searched until i found, the challenge that great racers sound
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, i pray your destiny is not to spin
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, against the curvy roads you now call kin.
600 horses in my steed, pins me to my seat, yet freed
to tame the apportioned narrow lane, and yes this may sound somewhat vain
But joy is all i wish to find, and this road to my heart is kind,
I think that many others see, The Dragon speaks this mystery.
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, I pray your destiny is not to spin
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, against the curvy roads you now call kin.
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, I sense your destiny is not to spin
Drive on, my Dragon friends Drive on, against the curvy roads you now call kin.

ToD Registration Upate
66 individuals and 33 Vipers from 13 different states and even a member from Canada...we are well on our way.
Jeff
We'll be registering/booking room this eve....
82 days until TOTD.
I hear this is good opportunity to get together with a few Vipers and meet some other owners. Our first time so hope we won't be dissappointed.

81 days.
Has there been an official itinerary posted? I may only be able to come for part of the event.
Typically,
Thurs: early arrivals, goody-bag pick up, dinner
Fri: morning ToD drive, lunch, dinner/drinks,
Sat: scenic drives, escorted parade thru G'burg, dinner
Sun:....
of course, this is abbreviated version, and more detailed itinerary will be ready by mid April I'm guessing
I'm at least 10.5 hours ahead of most in the US. 79 Days.
Just registered.... let the games begin![]()
REGARDING ITINERARY:
Maybe we'll just issue (potential) route maps with approx times to traverse, and times/places to eat, and let everyone take their own roads to wherever, whenever, however. Just like in life -> on your own, or with friends of your choosing. Would that be interesting or what??
Here is a list (dated 3/16/2017) of those who are attending the ToD - First Name and last initial and from what State/Region

I like the idea of Friday being a formal, planned route and run. I liked it a couple years ago when we has several options on Saturday with the stipulation of being back in time for the parade. My suggestion would be to have it a little more announced or distinct about which group is pulling out at what times. It got very confusing trying to figure out which group was leaving. I wanted to go to Clingmans Dome (I second the idea of that being another run) but almost left with the group headed to the Dragon again. Depending on distance and run times, maybe 1 group an hour could leave starting at 7AM with a flyer handed out in the welcome packets stating which group leaved the parking lot at which times and their destination.
