Viper GTS R GT3 R video history thread

Hey all,

I'm obsessed with the history of Viper Motorsports and often I'll search the internet for videos of everything from the first Vipers at Le Mans in 94 to the fantastic Riley Motorsports Vipers that just retired from IMSA last season. I thought I might start a thread where I could regularly share these videos in case anyone else is interested.

Now if this has been covered somewhere and I missed it or if it just isn't popular let me know. Let's see how it goes:

Had to post this one right away too. 1997 ride along in the Oreca GT1 car along with interview of one of the Viper project managers.

Cool video and history. I know someone who owns an Oreca GTSR I think it was one of the 2000 Le Mans cars. Pretty awesome.

In 1999 Viper took the top 6 spots in the GTS class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Here's a lap around the circuit in the winning #51.


This is a bit of a different competition with the Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge. Ben Keating set the fastest lap of the competition in 2014 with his GT3-R. The in car video of the winning lap around an extremely difficult Virginia International Raceway is awesome.

I "drive " this beast once a year, not like a pilot but just like a big fan of Snakes!...

Wow I can't imagine what it's like to have one of these legends. That would be my ultimate dream car. I'd love to see more pictures of the car as it sits today if you wouldn't mind sending them, even via PM or email.

since 2 years now, it's middle of october, the Swiss team rent the circuit for 2 private days and it's reserved for racing Vipers first.

I have drove the car last August during an exhibitional hill climb event, it's my " Peaks Peak"....
the road is in my town to going to the col du Ballon d'Alsace.
the Viper have a track set-up, old and cold slicks and a novice driver....
