I like when he says "as long as you aren't a complete idiot..." That's like issuing a challenge to all idiots worldwide. They will say "I bet I can try something stupid and manage to be ok." Their idiot blood is on your hands, Doug.

I honestly think he came into this car behind the 8ball because SO MANY people had told him it was gonna sneak into his house and murder him in his sleep. We all clearly know that's not the case. But that definitely taints the image of the car in the general publics mind.

I did like this video though I would say driving in freshly fallen snow is probably way more nuts because of the light weight and wide tires. JMO.

That's been there the entire time the car has existed it's entire life and unfortunately, the only way for that to ever change is if the Viper literally becomes a carbon copy of whatever future Corvette comes down the line. I hate using that as an excuse but at some point down the line, the major automotive outlets REALLY went south on the Viper and I'm not sure if that's because they feel it didn't evolve that way or what. As far as I can remember, the cars flaws would always be mentioned but as soon as it was driven, as soon as it was put in a major test, it was atop of the podium.

I think the market is pretty flooded these days. There is so much variety, it's not a TERRIBLE thing, but every time a high end brand produces a entry level car the word exotic gets watered down a little bit and the manual is getting weeded out of everything. Automatics, comfy chairs, carbon everything including the airbag, a "entry level" $100k MSRP and horsepower makes an exotic now. Manufacturers are designing and producing cars at a record pace but the average consumer is holding on to their cars even longer. It's scary.

I have no issue diving my car in the rain. Tires are good and only a couple years old.
The snow isn't an issue either. It's the salt and brine they prepare the surfaces with before it snows. It's very corrosive.
I just realized after I posted that my avitar is a photo of me at a track day in the rain. That was fun. Car was no worse than any other non traction aid car.

My guess is a light skiff of moisture would ground you. Congrats you're not alone.

So really the question is, how fun would it be if you could actually get snow tires in the appropriate size. Maybe a set of race tires made for rain with some additional sipping.

I've seen trucks with big slicks that were studded. They went through anything.

http://www.merrillicedrags.com/ These guys go faster on ice then most guys here have gone on pavement lol. If there's a will, there's a way

It's only rain! I can't count the number of times I've been out and got caught in the rain. Whatever. It's just water. I won't purposely go out in a downpour, but no big deal if I get rained on. Snow on the other hand... Never been out in that. Not wanting to try.
Definitely been out in near freezing temperatures though. Again, no problem there. Just gotta drive like not an idiot

Interesting story...By buddy has a cool SUV covered in XPEL. He got caught in a storm in the NW they had sprayed Calcium Carbonate/Salt on the road then he got mud over that. He was not in an area to clean his car off for a while for over a week. When he cleaned off the car the XPEL was totally fogged over-permanently! Looked like it was etched all over??? He is contacting the company for replacement never heard of this...Scott

Love to see him do that test with Toyos on! No chance! I sort of get what he is saying in the Video but if someone was to step out off the sidewalk, chances are they would be joining him in the cockpit! the viper would just lock up all four wheels and skid!

Secondly No tire manufacture makes a cold weather tire as far as I am aware? They are summer tires only so if you were to hit something you may get your ass sued!

Thought the Police officers comments were the best

He brought the car to our C&C not long after he bought it. It's a little rough to begin with, even before this.

I think Doug is sort of annoying so I'm going to take a jab at this video.

There's a big difference between slush and snow/ice. Enjoy the slushy Doug, real men do blizzards.
