What s the latest and greatest foglight update for Gen II

Looks like both my fogs are cracked. One even has a small hole through the lens. Still working for now......

Looking to replace them and add covers. Original fogs are stupid $$

Am I best to go with a Gen III retrofit or something else?

When I had my Gen II I had lots of problems with cracked lenses, so when I replaced the cracked one I got a pre-cut clear 12 mil mylar cover from Lamin-X. Here is the link to their products http://www.lamin-x.com/SearchResults...Covers&Submit= If you have a light that still works you can put the cover over the lens and it will protect it from further damage. It is an inexpensive way to solve the cracking in the future too.

Having the fog deletes saved me so much time when I re-aligned my fascia! I removed the wheel, popped out the rubber access grommet, removed the ACR fog block off plate, and could stick my arm through the fog light hole and loosen all the bolts without taking the fascia off

I replaced my cracked fogs in the past with replacement Gen II's and tried the Lamin-X film. Both fog lenses are cracked again so the whole process turned out to be a waste. Then again, I'm in Alberta so we have more rocks on the roads from the winters.

Not too bad for $18. I could see how it would help with small pebbles and such, but I wonder how much they hold up to larger rocks. That energy from the rock still has to be transferred to the lens somehow. Will still order them and install, as that is cheap insurance and better than nothing. Thanks for the link!

Does anyone else get the overwhelming urge to pull the "Beast" out when temps reach a pleasant semi tropical +1C.? No? The gravel and salt are killers but do you want to live for ever?

I hope it helps. I think I finally decided to double up and use 2 layers and it worked better. I had some fairly decent hits and the lens survived, but my car was a daily driver so it saw a lot of highway use. Good luck with yours.

ACR deletes about 10 years ago. And based on how long a glass lamp lasts 4" off the ground I've saved millions in glass replacement costs.

There are tons of people that have done the Gen 3 conversion. It's caveman simple. Just get the parts from Jon B and be done with it.

Your fascia will be full of sand, leaves, cigarette butts, small dead animals, etc in short time...that is, if you're driving it.
