    Removal Rear Extension Belly Pan

Has anyone ever removed this panel from their vehicle?
This is the gray plastic rear under panel.

I was wondering if there was a more efficient way to remove this.
The service manual says Remove the rear fascia just to get to this panel.

    See attachment.

The only way to remove it is to take the rear bumper cover, tail light and rear valance trim panel off the car. The rear fender liners have to come loose too. Once off, you can then separate the pieces. Oh, and you will need to remove some interior pieces to access the fasteners that hold the rear bodywork on.

Hey Steve, thanks for the reply. I was hoping it would be easier but I guess this is what has to be done. It doesn't seem that difficult, just a lot of steps.

    Thanks Simms.

Is there any part of the procedure that's a pain in the butt or just one by one removal of the fasteners.
I'm just worried about putting it back on and finding out I have a vibration somewhere.
Seems like it should be alright though.

    Nothing crazy, just time consuming.

When putting back together, your gaps may look slightly off. Don't worry, as you tighten up the thumb nuts from inside the rear hatch, it will pull it all back together nicely.

The most difficult part of the process is the removal of the forward edge of the bumper cover where it clips into the bottom edge of the rear quarter. The clip is fragile.
