gen 1 gains with ported heads

Hello. I am wondering a ballpark guess of how much hp and torque I could gain from ported and polished heads on a gen 1? I have 1.7 HS rr exhaust and a sct tune. Just wondering if it's worth spending the money

I picked up about 125rwhp with a heads/cam package on my 94. I did have a Roe blower on the car so that may not be a fair comparison. I would like to think at least 80rwhp if you add a nice cam.

May want to contact Roe racing. Sean offered a NA 500 hp upgrade for the Gen-1. It included ported & flowed heads, cam, exh and tune.

On my 95 R/T 10 I did Greg Good heads and a 708 cam and gained 90 rwhp. I know the 708 cam is not the best cam but I had a brand new one and deciced to use it rather than spend more money on something else. Greg is the man if you want head work IMO.

Ported and polished buys you 30 hp. Larger valves buys you another 30 hp. All in for $2500 plus shipping and install. This is a realistic expectation of what to expect.

All in all, probably one of better dollar/hp. Best performance investment in my opinion are gears, or poor mans super charger.

Lol because that's a lot or lol because that seems cheap? That's the price I was quoted from one of the reputable vendors. That's a rebuild of existing heads not brand new ones.

The porting/polishing with aftermarket valve train will cost more than that. If using stock valve train, power is being left on the table.

Then I guess I better jump on that as it was actually $2200 to be exact. Port/polish and larger valves all in. PM me if anyone wants to know who 'was' offering this. Not sure the offer still stands but I'll be happy to point you in the right direction where you can find out. The offer may have been unique to my situation...
