    Fender liner info needed

    Hi all,

Please look at the picture below. What you are looking at is the forward edge of the left rear fender liner on a '16 ACR. That reinforcement area is a new development that the 13's, 14's qnd 15's do not have. What I am trying to find out is if that reinforcement is on the 2016/2017 non ACR cars as well.

I looked up the part number and it is the same base number all the way through but that the suffix changed from an AF to an AG sometime this year.

Would someone check their 16 or 17 Non ACR to see if their rear fender liner matches the one in the pic?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I was trying to find out if it on all 16's and 17's and not just an ACR thing.

    Thanks for looking...

This seems like as good a place to ask as any. Does anyone know if the larger piece of the fender liner is ACR specific? To deal with the suspension adjustment possibilities? I've worn a hole through the upper forward portion the liner on my 15 with my track alignment and track height....

Ya the inner fender liner are ACR specific. They are redesigned to handle the larger tires. I was told this by prefix as I had worn a hole in the right inner fender liner. I got replacement liners for each side. I haven't tested to see if its the right one but I'm told it is. I got them from JonB and they were dirt dirt cheap. I'm thinking it was $80 for each side. I want to see if I have that panel that Steve is talking about in the post when I get home this evening.

Thanks doc! I usually got to Jon B for everything myself as well. But guessing at the size of the boxes, plus crossing the border, I think I'll grab an ACR VIN and give my local dealer a crack at them first.

Why would they be acr specific for tire clearance, as all late model vipers have the same 355/30/19 tire.
I have a hole worn in the front of the left rear liner on the in side. I must drive my TA like an ACR.

I think it's because the ACR is set up from the factory with the ability to be lowered....... which is the same as adding a larger tire.

I acquired 13 different VIN's and did some exhaustive research. The part number suffix I related to in my first post is standard equipment across all Viper Trim lines SRT, GT, GTS, ACR etc. in the 16 and 17 model year.

I ordered a pair today to see what they look like. They will be at my door on either the 3rd or 4th of Jan. As soon as I get them, I'll let everyone know what I got.

What part number? I have both rear fender liners sittings in my garage. We can compare. According the folks at prefix the inner fender liners on the rear of the ACR. I believe the terminology they used was "re engineered". This was news to me as well. Curious what the truth really is now. I told Jon B I wanted the ACR specific ones. He ordered me some. Maybe he can chime in on his research of the situation.

I haven't heard this problem in TA's but the ACR with track settings (lowered, etc.) are notorious for this.

The problem I have on my 13 is that the Ford lower edge of the fender liner where it attaches to the side still has deteriorated badly I believe due to the heat of the exhaust. The other thing that I did not show in my original picture, is that there is quite a large amount of Self-adhesive heat reflective material behind that reinforcement.

Steve, how many miles on your car? My fender liners are OK, but I only have 11,600 miles.

  15. #15
The ACR will even rub its fender liners. Lowering the car, the extra downforce and sticky tires all contribute to this. I forgot who, but on the FB group there were some pictures with wheels off and you could clearly see.

Correct. There is a heat reflective material behind the reinforcement. Here are the pics of the two liners in my garage with what you speak of.

It's a one piece liner for the rear wheels. I guess it's called a "splash guard". I have yet to replace my current one to see if this is the right part but it would appear so. Can you elaborate a bit more on two piece?

The photo in the first post shows a 2 piece fender liner, thats the liner that Im interested in. Yours appears to be a one piece just like my MY2015. In interested in the 2 piece one as that will facilitate easier removal of the rockers.

It looks like it would make changing out different exhausts a lot easier.

The two piece you refer to is a different part number. The fender liner in my has that additional section get screwed into it. It's not the same part.

After even more research and getting Chrysler to fix its own Parts books, I have the correct part Numbers and pricing for the fender liners like I showed in my first pic/post.

The part number is: 68284693AD (left), 68284692 (right). List price is $294.00 EACH. Chrysler has it listed as now as a '17 only part even though its on the '16 ACR's.

And I was so hoping for a reasonable price...........

Chrysler has these parts in stock.

It's amazing the Viper tax. You could part out these cars and make more than they cost new!

Any idea if that comes with both pieces per side and all screws?
