Exclamation DIY Catback Exhaust Install video and Borla Review

Hey guys, finally finished my Borla Catback Exhaust install vid. Hopefully this helps anyone debating tackling the install themselves to show what all is involved. The Borla fitment takes a bit of adjusting to get lined up as you will see in the video. I have a new mic on the way for my camera setup so additional videos will be posted as well to better capture the sound

Next up is my dreaded poly-urethane suspension bushings which should be a pain in the rear

Glad you got it on and am thrilled you like it. Was nervous as the Borla doesn't get a lot of love so I was hoping I didn't point you in the wrong direction for your liking. Hopefully my description matches your experiences.

Interesting to see that your kit came with the y-pipe. I thought they didn't thus why the PO of my kit had his made up. I wonder if Borla will sell just the rear section of the kit as your fit is actually better than mine as min sits on the frame a little in the rear no matter what I did.

Looking forward to the bushing install. I just finished my Cobra and it was a major PITA. I wound up buying a 12 ton shop press after finishing the rear. having the press helped a whole lot with getting the bushings out of the front control arms on the Cobra. Curious if you find that removing the old bushings is the hardest part of the job for the Viper as it diffidently was for that car.

when doing my brakes I noticed some bushings that needed replacement so I'm going to have to do it either way. If you've got some extra $$$ may want to think about doing the brake upgrade at the same time.

Yeah I do like it! Still waiting to hear a Corsa in person but for now it is definitely an improvement over what I had! I've heard borla wont sell individual sections of their catback but its always worth a shot asking! I bet you can get your system to fit better. There was a lot of play to move things around. Just was a pain in the ass to get it dialed in which took a couple hours or trial and error adjusting.

Yeah I am definitely dreading the bushing install and was taking a few weeks off wrenching off the car since it seems it was on jack stands almost every weekend lol. Wanted to enjoy it for a bit then continue modding I am going to try a C-Clamp ball joint press from the free load a tool autozone program. It looks very similar to the Miller special tool that is made for this job so we'll see how that goes. Putting them in is easy I've heard but taking them out is the hard part.

Brakes will come eventually. Just keeping my eyes open for a set of 03+ OEM brakes for sale or any aftermarket BBKs.

If you already have the bushings you should measure them and see if a kit like this has die's that match the right sizes. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...FYuhaAod6_YGIQ

The C clamp may work but it wont have the drivers that you will need. My local autozone didn't rent those out anymore so I had to buy a set. Worth checking out in advance so you aren't part shopping when you are needing to work on the car. You could probably use sockets to press the bushings out as well but I'd go with a driver set if you can.

Yeah definitely. I'll probably pick this up from Harbor Freight. For the number of times I would ever use it, I think it would be fine.
