Wasn't expecting the extras personally so it was a nice surprise. The car still comes with a map of laguna Seca in the glove box like my old one did, very cool. 2017 also gave paper owners manual surprisingly. Back in 2013 it came on disk and you only got a paper version if you specifically requested it. My window sticker says the vehicle was built especially for me, which is epic.

My salesman said the 8.4 inch dash screen has been substantially tweaked since 2013. I haven't had the opportunity to play with it yet. Still comes with the small fuel filler funnel, they buried it under the cover that goes over the battery area. What a sight in person. Just wow.

No offense ACR Extreme , but this is how rumors start , and there is no requirement for carbon interior pieces with a leather interior. Frankly we will have folks thinking this was a problem and folks were forced to get wings painted which has never been true. The Design Team , from the beginning, wanted all wings painted on ACRs ( regular or One of Ones ) if they had dual stripes and it had nothing to do with an supposed concerns you are bringing up as there were none. If so they would not have agreed easily to our request to do unpainted ACR wings on dual striped cars if the buyer requested. Adding carbon fiber to the interior , as has already been discussed before, it going to be a difficult undertaking , but more so, extremely expensive.

Wasn't happy I could not add interior carbon to the special edition but that's easy enough to do in part later.

The Special Editions vs the ACR - E if you added leather they made you pay for ceramics so there a lot of conflicting issues my guess is they figured out production how many parts they needed keep in mind there is a strong dislike for their carbon supplier as the cf wings with exposed carbon had messy looking weaves that with paint did not matter. Note this happened with the Scuderia and almost ever Sucderia had defective carbon weave which was replaced at no charge.

So the Special Editions have not just paint ... I kid!
The exposed carbon is flawless on my car. Sounds like a sales pitch for a painted wing option to me.

And I can't believe they don't let people add any options to the SE cars, that makes zero sense. The carbon interior/exterior is a must have, especially when you're already paying a high MSRP. Seems like it would make more sense to option a lowly GTC the way you want it.

I am fortune in that back on June 24th I could've ordered any special edition I wanted to. My debate was my wing not matching the body. I was nervous about it the entire 6 months it tool to build and obtain my car, even once I finally saw pictures of it. What a relief when I saw it in person. The non painted carbon fiber component of the wing (and front dive planes) really break it up nicely and compliment the car. I'm so glad that the wing isn't painted on my particular model.

My other concern was whether competition blue center band should've been GTS Blue like the guy on the Facebook page. Again, what a relief seeing it in person. It was definitely the right choice shade of blue (in my personal subjective biased lol opinion) and the theme of American color stripes is just epic!

The only thing I would've speced differently would've been the CF exterior like the GTS-R, CF interior & CF x brace. However, the way it came is still excellent. I've identified 5 owners of my edition, there's 17 others out there. Can't wait to see the Voodoo 2's & SSG ones.

Defective sounds to the layman like a major issue , when in fact Prefix just separated the wings with minor flaws to be the painted ones and it was never a common issue or concern. Terminology , defective sounds way more dramatic, when there were some with minor flaws. Talk to Prefix often, over the years including the CEO , and the main issue with the wings has been just supplying them, as the demand from customers was way over the projections.

Sorry if I misunderstood you , but all the Limited Editions are ACR-Es , so not really sure what you are saying about when you wrote if you added leather you had to get ceramics. Please explain , thanks.

Curious about the touchscreen. I have the EXACT same screen (and controls) in my '16 Ram, and it and the Viper's operate in an identical fashion, and look the same. Let us know about any differences you find.

swexlin, the 8.4 in my 17 is identical to the one in my 2014 Ram. There might be some minor software updates, but nothing really noteworthy

They added a few things in 2016 like drag and drop menu bar, Siri eyes free and maybe some other things no one uses.

Wish they would have switched to the new 8.4 that does CarPlay. Would save me from the hassle of doing it after the fact if I decide to try.

Just got off the phone with Gastman and learned something else about the dealer editions. They are not 1 of 22 like I had incorrectly assumed. They are 1 of 11 for Tomball and 1 of 11 for Roanoke (no soup for bill P Lol) so I guess I'm 6 of 11 instead of 6 of 22 if that makes any sense.

I also asked where the 5 miles on my odometer came from. I thought for sure it was from factory dyno break in. Turns out they need to drive them around the factory to check things out. Part of me wants spring to arrive so I can drive the Piss out of it and part of me wants to keep 5 miles on it. First world problems. ...

The 5 miles comes from the time on the rollers where they go thru a pre-determined course and go through the gears and certain RPM ranges. This is done before the body panels are added. It usually amounts to 4 miles at the least.

Good point , we switched our SSG Snakeskin Editions over to the ACR-E version and not sure if there will actually be 25 that are just GTCs with the Aero Package? Good catch and something to look into, as I know some other Dealers did the same thing , so it would be interesting if there are 25 total or 25 of each Coupe and ACR?

Bred, happy for you that you got what you wanted, as we all like different things , and glad to see you talking positively about the Viper. We ( Woodhouse ) , just did not see value in being another Dealer with the same exact car as two others, so we elected to pass when Dodge offered. Our loss , but a decision we made, and no worries we got plenty of soup. Enjoy the ACR and hope to hear of some exploits on the track you have.

I was also told that there may not be 31 SSG ACR cars as first put out in the media, it may have be cut to 25 because some of the orders were not "sold" orders?

What exactly is the "ACR" interior?

I have the 8.4 UConnect in my 2014 Ram Sport. Now I just need a Gen 5 with it to match.

Does your ram have any of the cool engine monitor screens like the viper does? (Sorry OP off topic but curious)

No, gauges, etc are the SRT Performance Pages, and are exclusive to SRT vehicles - Viper, Hellcat, etc.

The CF wings were a common issue and held up a lot of deliveries - defective weave is what it is.

The leather interior stereo upgrade if one checked those upgrades it was my understanding there was an automatic delete to ceramics which then had to be added back in on top of the ACR -E package which contributes to upgraded leather interiors having a much larger sticker price.

At the end of the day - 99.5% happy with Viper Thanks to guys like you.

I wonder where the "defective" wings go? Would be nice to retrofit one to my ACR

Ok, it is not a delete, the Carbon Ceramic Rotors are essentially an add if you do a custom interior, as it is not a standard item on an GTC with the ACR Option Group. They will give you the rotors at no charge if you order the ACR interior group, along with the ACR Option , but it must be checked on the order list even though no cost.

CANADIANS: If you do an ACR-E via the 1 of 1 (i.e. a GTC with ACR added in) then you also have to specify the $6K ACR interior and pay $11K for the Ceramics if you want them.

Question, is the carpet delete and lack of insulation on an ACR-E in the trunk area only?
