I stopped watching when they started complaining about ergonomics.
Harris vid is the only one that has mattered as he's the only reviewer that's had the skill to push the car and, therefore, provide any kind of real assessment.
I stopped watching when Aunt Bee misquoted the GT350's horsepower rating. If you're not knowledgeable about the car you're reviewing, then you're not even worth the time to watch.
S.
They start with the proposition "today we're going to find out which is best on the track". Then they quickly get into things totally irrelevant for use on the track.
Lightweights wayyyy out of their league. Besides, don't the various track times/records already answer the question?
Its quite clear these people haven't really got a clue how to assess cars. I mean they bring the test to a track and title it "track day monsters" and then say the Viper is not really good for the street???. I mean you've brought the test to the track to assess track capabilities and then you judge how it is on the street.?? And then you go on to talk about the stereo and ergonomics?? WTF?? And also what are they talking about not being able to get the gear in?? I've got a GT3 997 and its no different really. And then saying the clutch needs a strong left foot. Again what planet are they on and what are they talking about?? And why the F**k do they find it intimidating? I can assure them it really isn't unless of course its the first powerful car they have driven in their life. Geez this review made me so mad!

I haven't even watched it yet, and I can already guess what they're saying about the Viper......
Nothing but a puff piece for the Porsche. You could sense it from the very beginning. Porsche had the longest segment and its up against two yankee cars. Surprise!!!!
As Jon mentioned they started out about track car blah blah but where were the track times? Maybe I missed that. But I did notice a "drag race" between the three "circuit track specific" cars. This test had one aim. Porsche Porsche Porsche.
A 20 minute video, which included what seemed like 15 minutes of track footage and over 100 clips of them entering and exiting corners. Nary a single example of someone hitting their marks. Not one. Nobody using all the road at turn in. Nobody hitting a clipping point in the right spot. Nobody using all the road on track out. An no sign whatsoever of any of the cars being driven at or near their limits, except possibly during the drag race.
Three terrific track cars. A track. But no track driver. No wonder they got the answer wrong.
I have to admit that those 3 cars would be quite the trio I could see sitting in my garage. Although the Porsche is overpriced and the GT500 will be debuting shortly.
Thanks for the reviews , now I don't have to watch this fluff piece and blow 20 minutes of my day! Much appreciated !!
Emme Hall is pretty good with reviews. I've followed her for a few years now. As far as the HP misquote, it sounds to me like just a moment of dyslexia between 526 and 562. Even Chris Harris got the tire size wrong on his ACR review. (calling rear tires 335s)
Overall I enjoyed the video for what it was.
For this group and this test, they should have used a loaded GTS with Laguna Leather, 18 speaker stereo and exterior carbon fiber advance aero (TA 1.0) and CF appearance pieces. This would have provided all of the performance, more insulation and more bling, etc., all for $50k+ less than the GT3.
I stumbled over an old video of an srt setting a lap time at the ring on youtube last week
I'm with Doug on this one. Give me 10 hours to generate footage, and edit it to death, and I'll look like the Stig. These guys look like they're on their way to Starbucks on a curvy road.
I'll be honest. I suppose I did learn a little bit about each cars infotainment systems, but did they have to rent a racetrack to show me that? And am I the only one who noticed the Hipster with the beard complained about how much effort the clutch and shifter required in the ACR, but the woman didn't? I'm sorry, but if he considers that clutch and shifter high effort, it's time to shave the beard and do a push up or two......
I think the clutch is pretty light, actually.
Facepalm
20 mins and they couldn't manage to hit a single apex tight
Geez...tough crowd. I thought they gave a lot of praise to the viper for what it is. Sure, they said a lot of dumb stuff but it was fine. Not the greatest review but worth a watch just to see an ACR in motion.
I couldn't make it half way thru, just too lame. Nice camera work, but commentary is too goofy and off base.
The amazing thing to me about the GT3 is that it only makes 339 lb/ft of tq. My '87 mustang made 300 like in '87. What's amazing is how fast and quick it is with that tq number. Impressive.
Why get upset? The GT3 is more refined and easier to drive, especially with all the electronic nannies and pdk. Unless you are a track rat you won't appreciate a raw, work for it, car like the ACR. It's just irritating because vehicles like the the Vulcan get praised for being that (1.8mil)
I don't remember reading the majority of comments complaining about the results. It's just a terrible review, with terrible drivers, from a video labeled as "trackday monsters"...... The results are irrelevant, as they are subjective. I think, however, that I am correct, in assuming most people who bothered to click on the video, expected something completely different, like say, lap times at least? Or maybe one hot shoe between them?
