I was torn between a Gen IV and a Gen V...briefly. Once I saw the interior of the Gen V compared to the Gen IV (no comparison) and heard of all the records the Gen V was setting, my mind was made up...NO REGRETS! Despite the issues some Gen V's have....And now I have a loooong warranty to boot.

I'd say you made the right decision!
- You already have a GEN 5
- The GEN 4 was low miles clean title
- The GEN 5 in question had a lemon title and it wasn't like it was an ACR or anything your current GEN 5 isn't already with exception of maybe some small options?
If it was a GEN 5 ACR to add to your current GEN 5 then it would be a different predicament.
Hey congrats, I think you nabbed a real beauty.
I think Everett Chevy really wanted/needed to move that car..considering that price drop & the low miles.
Plenty of room on that odometer to drive it a bunch.
Enjoy it & Happy New Year!
I have both the Gen 4 and 5 ACR. Like everybody mentioned, night and day difference, but so is the price.
Thanks for every ones insight. I ended up NOT doing the deal.
I just got back from driving 500 miles , one way, to do the deal.
When I arrived the "Check engine " light was on. This really begins things out well as I was told before I drove there that their cars have a 150 point inspection.
Started critically looking at the vehicle why they checked the code, found at least 12" inches worth of "trails" for lack of a better words, in the clear coat, on the drivers side 1/4 panel. It was subtle, but it was there. Looked as if someone rubbed a rivet ,like found on jeans in this area.
Then I noticed the stripes were stickers! and not paint.
They then found the code was from the TPS. They cleared it and I drove it and it did not come back on.
While driving , I found the door locks need not work and the front left speaker was cracking in sound something fierce.
So within 1/2 hour I found these above issues ( when I got it home, I am sure i would have found more) , though most probably minor, I walked away .
Primarily due to the stickers for stripes.
Marking it up to education.
Wow!
Thanks for the update.
Guess that explains the low price for a Viper with so few miles.
Thanks again for sharing the info..
You may want to look at this one now...

Are you sure they were stickers? Unfortunately Chrysler was very sub-standard on the paint quality on GenIII and IV in regards to the stripes. I bet you they were paint as people seem to often mistake this. The stripes were very much an after thought on these Gen's.... it actually drives me crazy when people rub their fingernail over the edge of mine and think they are vinyl.
The pics looked like the stripes were paint. The the Gen 3/4 are painted AFTER the color was painted at Prefix. Where on the Gen V the stripes are painted first. So on the 3/4 if you look at them without knowing they appear to be stickers. There is a ridge on the them from tape lines. (My SSG ACR has stripes)
Also TPS should not set off a CEL. I know in the spring usually my tires are low and if I take it out, the TPMS light flashes, not the CEL.
I am 99% sure. I know these Gens did have a step with stripes. This step was very thick and I believe I could have peeled it up with my finger nail.
Asked to talk to the Previous owner while I was there they said they called him and got his cell and Didn't seem interested in pursuing.
They definitely had no respect for my time.
He traded it in on a new Z06.

Better to go off your gut feeling if they aren't treating you correctly. I almost walked away from buying my truck last week just cause the sales rep was so pushy yet unhelpful. When he called asking when I was coming back I said "Oh I will come in maybe today but can I ask your manager a few questions first?" Spoke to the manager and told him how bad his sales-guy was performing, he apologized, gave me one of his top guys and the manager gave me an even better deal just for the hassle...
On the brighter side at least you still have a Viper to enjoy while you search for your next addition!
Interesting.
The build sheet shows that it was built with silver painted stripes.

I am starting to think they were painted myself, I could have swore they were stickers.
Here is a previous add when Chicago motors had it and it says , painted stripes.

Those stripes were likely OEM - I remember wondering if the ones on my 2008 were vinyl as well since they have a very noticeable step to them, but they are indeed painted. Another give away is the black painted lower diffuser panel (or whatever it is called)...those were left body color on the non-stripe cars.
That said, that sounds like quite a few issues for a car with such low miles.
Well I was considering making that 1000 mile trip again to go buy it since the stripes were factory painted. But it worked out that I drove 20 miles to a local dealer and got this 2014 GTS today , new, with 20 miles on it.
Woah nice find! I didn't know there were any new 14's left. Love the black GTS stripes, congrats!
Here's a 13 Bumble Bee with 49 miles that just sold at auction. A friend sent this to me yesterday. 10% buyers fee.
