Would a Service Director be able to find this out, or is this an FCA thing? I have a friend/acquaintance who's the service director at my local dealer, but I don't want to needlessly bother him
FWIW, i tried out the live chat (hate that..) feature on the Mopar site and received a response in regards to the VIN I'm looking at. I would believe this to mean FCA intended it to stay with the car, but something may not be transferring correctly in the systems at the dealer level being that it shows "NO"
Pretty simple, I agree it should be transferrable , but for it to say No is unusual. Folks want a very definite answer and when questioned about it stating Not Transferrable there was enough concern that it was going further up for clarification. Not going to do any good asking a Service Manager as we have already done all that , we are trying to get an answer why for those of us that have had the R 28 done it has this odd listing of not being transferrable. May be an answer right now, but the guy looking into it was promoted as noted above.
This would definitely affect my buying decision as well once I am ready. In for more info.
Got a note that it was forwarded ahead , so let's hope we hear reasonably soon?
I guess nobody picks up a phone at FCA and can answer a simple question even when a longtime dealer calls. Pretty sad commentary.
Here is Bill Pemberton's answer with the response that came from FCA: driveviper.com/forums/threads 10-year-100-000-Powertrain-Coverage-R28-Vehicles
