Your post is misleading, most will assume you mean a 2017 ACR... that is not the case

No, it isn't. Those who know anything about 'Ring times will know the Gen V hasn't run.

If true, that's awesome! Faster than the ACR-X time of 7:03.05.

horsepowerkings is usually a click bait site. I would take anything they say (post) with a grain of salt. They have been posting fake Ring times for a couple of years now.

That HPK article was from 2015, Ha! Ha!

Hey it is bound to get beat, records are meant to be broken. Will be a shame though if we never know what it could have done. Especially since it will be the pinnacle of our model.

Hpk is a click bait site.
If I had to guess what a gen V ACR would run, it would be sub 7 mins.

The horsepower kings listing seems to be untrue. There is a crew of privateers putting together an attempt. I'm sure you will be hearing about it soon. Let's keep our fingers crossed and see what this track king can do on the ring.

So a new Mercedes beat a GEN 4 ACR lap time....

The ACR is still the king of the manual transmission cars. With the advent of everything going dual clutch automatic, I'm confident that it will forever remain the king of the 3 pedal club!

So we can all look forward to Randy Pobst taking one to Laguna Seca to see how it compares with the SRT, GTS, TA and ACR-E times set there! Has me wondering, and since a track buddy is considering trading up from his GT-S to the GT-R this is need to know info

I don't think it is hard to believe. Look at how smooth the MERC was compared to the ACR. The ACR had to be worked to get that time.

I played both of these and got them started at the same time. That Merc looks like a Sunday drive compared to the ACR.

Actually just finishing it, the ACR was ahead all the way up until the 6:23 mark or so on that large stretch. Thats when the aero/gearing hurt it and the Merc went flat out and made up a wholllllllllle lot of time by the bridge.

Do yourself a favor, get one of the vids paused at the 1-2 sec mark and get the other one going before you hit play and watch the video. It's amazing to see the 2 at the same time.

Gen 4 ACR's were a handful at the limit . Fun but you had to really work your hands. The new ACR's is so much easier to drive at the limit (like the Mercedes) One of the easiest cars I have ever driven at 9 to10 10ths on track. Huge testament to the ACR engineers

Night and day on track between old and new

If you watch a motorcycle on a dyno , one with DCT and one with manual shift. You be surprised how much it can unsettle your suspension . I would think DCT would make it easier to drive to the limit consistently.
