They are, but in the MB AMG GTR, still #33.....but Vipers are still racing in Pirelli WC I think.
Viper GT3R no longer eligible for IMSA.
whys that?? it feels like they just announced them four years ago or so.. or is it linked to production year?
To race IMSA a manufacturer has to become an official sponsor paying something like $1 million for advertising. With the Viper out of production, Chrysler is unwilling to pay that fee and Viper Exchange has already done more than their far share this past season to make it happen. That's the shortest answer.
I hope McCann continues to run the car in PWC, and also Lonestar as well.
Me too, that would be great to see the cars continue.
Its sad to see the Viper go, and it sure will be missed this year. But hey, the MB is not a bad alterantive and i am excited to see MB in the series. I am sure Ben is making off better as well with the manufactures support now. Even without the Viper I am still excited for this season and hopefully the Viper will race on in PWC for a few more years.
