    15K Voucher

I'm curious how many people still have their $15K Voucher and have not used it. Feel free to reply or PM.

Sitting on mine. Have not decided to replace the TA with a 2017 ACR-E. The GTS-R look-alike at VE looks enticing. (http://www.viperexchange.com/vehicle...tx-id-15554183). The more time the TA spends on the track the stronger the attraction of the ACR-E becomes.
Another option is keep the TA and redirect the cost difference to another toy, possibly a GT350R or C7 Z06(2016) or C7 GS. The current deep discounts on 2016 C7-Z06 makes it attractive. If the current ADM wasn't silly on the GT350R, that would be the first pick.

Ta values are strong though so the voucher may more than make up depreciation which was its goal. However you can't go wrong with the TA and another great ride. Personally the TA is the best car for my needs. However it sounds like you would really benefit from the acre on the track and the acre is truly the best Viper ever made. I'd go acre based on what you said.

Is this voucher transferable or is it only to the granted owner? I have someone that is willing to sell me it but I wanted to know if anyone else knew the details. It would be nice to purchase a new Viper over a used one.

Only To The Original Owner, It Is Not Transferable, And Expires 2018, So Use It Or Lose It.

Also curious how many people actually used their vouchers. All I keep hearing about is the people that have them, but never used them.

There have been quite a few used , and not all for the 2017 model year. Many used theirs in 2015 and 2016 , so though there are some still out there , they have been being applied over the years.

I traded my 13 in on my 14 the day it came in the mail, Sept 11, 2014. I occasionally think about what I'd do today if I still had my 13 + the voucher and I would have been strongly tempted to get an ACRE. But in reality the TA makes the most sense for how often I street drive + race.

That's why I started the thread. Seems like a lot of vouchers will go unused. Doesn't make sense for most people to use the voucher to just buy a newer Viper that is the same. The only reason for most current owners would be to get an ACR.

Since we have done a large number of Vouchers, the idea that folks would only get an ACR to move up is not necessarily what we saw happen. Since the carbon fiber packages came out super late in 2013 , we had a lot of folks order regular Vipers , but with Aerodynamic kits, exterior carbon option group, or wait till the One of One came along , and customize their Snake. In 2015 we were heavy into Vouchers with even more changes. We have done a reasonable number of Vouchers in 2016 and have some on orders for 2017, but there have been some dramatic changes since 2013 and early 2014 ------- TAs ( 1.0 and 2.0 ) , One of Ones, ACRs , etc.

I know that if I still had mine there'd be NO WAY I'd let it expire without using it. Even if you just trade in what you have for exactly the same thing you'll come out ahead unless you have a loaded GTS 13/14. Then I feel for you on trade value.

While I am glad FCA provided the Voucher, it is tough to justify its use in CA or in my case. I have a '14 GTS with all of the Carbon Fiber on the exterior plus TA Sway Bars and just love it. Even if there was a Gen V Viper model that I felt would be better for me (and there is not), it makes little financial sense to make a change. In CA, we must pay full sales tax on the new car, even if we trade (no netting trade and new car prices); taxes on the original purchase were >$10k. The depreciation hit vs. a new car would be large, even with a deal. Further, the drivetrain and other bits on a '17 are essentially the same as on a '14 (except for ACR aero and suspension). So the $15k voucher is nice, but would need to be more like $40k+ to get me motivated. Ideally, we could hold the Vouchers for Gen VI!!!

And this is EXACTLY why the car is SO worth it. Yes, FCA messed up pricing but it wasn't because it was too expensive. If the car was popular, had awesome marketing and a huge established following the expensive Tic boxes would have been fine. Porsche, Vette, and every other maker gets away with it but it's because of demand. A car with horrible marketing, a billion different names and a total identity crisis can't just come out and be like "Your 90k Viper is now 150k. Come at me bro."

Are the amazing carbon fiber pieces worth it as a package? Heck yeah. Is the sepia interior? Sure if you like that super high quality leather. The options were outstanding in my opinion. All of this goes to show how important it is to get the EXACT viper YOU want because price then becomes rather irrelevant. Some people hunt so long for a deal instead of enjoying the car and they pass up on great cars that fit what they want. With such limited production and with this rather weird surge and steady interest in the Viper I'd recommend anyone on the fence to look at the options and get the best one you can afford. There are so many cool vipers out there but the great ones don't pop up that often. You definitely have a great car there Stealth. Enjoy it in health!

Used mine to upgrade from a 13 track pack to a 14 Stryker Green GT w/ Full carbon inside & out...if I had not used the voucher I'd be shopping for an ACR-E now...

    I wish I had a voucher... haha.

People seem to be forgetting that having a voucher means you grossly overpaid the first time. LOL. Would hate to see the number a dealer throws at you for a 145K 2013 GTS on trade in now....that's got to be painful. Assuming they'd take it in.

What's to stop people who still have a voucher and don't intend to use it from being a straw buyer? I understand it isn't transferable, but it seems to me it wouldn't be that difficult to work something out, and share the savings. I'm not in the market as I already have a great Viper, just thinking out loud.
