Finally got my car into shape to drive

    Lots of pictures!

I bought my '08 ACR in '10. I did some track days and actually daily drove it for 6-9 months. But, doing routine maintenance and just the issue of driving it around the bay area made it so I started driving it less and less. It was sitting in my garage, dead and sad for about 9 months. Fast-Forward to now and the car looks much different now.

**couldn't attach the picture of the clutch, but you can click on the link above and see it.

    1100F/900R spring rates
    1100ft/lb racing clutch (bbg acr-x clutch...basically)
    custom BBG spec-ed ohlins
New ACR braking hardware, SS lines
    Wavetrac diff
    fully detailed, cleaned, and serviced

    Looks and feels brand new!

Toddy and his garage did a fantastic job. I would recommend them for anything viper related for sure. He kept me up-to-date with every change and sent pictures of all the work almost in real time! Fantastic door-to-door service while also being totally reasonable on pricing. Awesome!

Awesome car. Great collection of parts you have there. I am looking forward to hearing your (detailed!) impressions of the new setup. Toddy was raving about the Ohlins. I'm in the queue for a new diff. Can't wait. lol. Congratulations.

Great looking ride, and congrats on knocking that dust off! Just got my 2004, and I can't imagine losing this loving feeling!

I can't give you much detail. I only drove it for maybe like 15 mins after I got it back, then had to leave for the airport. But, I would say even with 900/1100 springs the car is nearly as smooth and comfy as my M5 now. The M5 bounces around more actually. The ACR on KW would bounce on uneven pavement like a mutha, parts of 280 were almost undriveable. Also, if you drive on 92 from the east to the west, heading towards San Mateo, near the 101 exchange is some gnarly uneven pavement, that will send the viper into a bouncy mess. We drove over that at the worse speed for the bouncing effect, and it was reduced significantly. That is on the softest setting i believe too. Once I have some time, probably not until next year I will get much more serious about dialing it, but so far...it's better than new. You can actually catch air on the 92 section at normal highway speeds (~70-75). With the ohlins it was a much less unsettling experience. I'm sure someone has better suspension, but this is a huge upgrade from the kws, IMO.

The clutch apparently takes some getting used to, but I didn't find the throw or starting off difficult. It's a metal clutch, so it chatters. If you don't feather the gas, while engaging the gear it will clatter...and it won't stop until you do it right!

The brakes feel much better thanks to the SS lines, i'm sure. But, the ACR-X hardware is no joke. I also have ta tires in TA sizes, 355 in the rear...no rubbing seems to work well. The diff is a trick piece I'm sure, but I wasn't driving it hard.

Overall, I can't be happier with the products in my car, the work done, and how it was done (keeping me up-to-date, etc). A+ experience...would do again!

Thanks for the details! I am planning an upgrade to the suspension after a few more driver mods. I have to say I have not noticed the "bounciness" in the KWs that others have. My first mod will be the wavetrac with polished 355 gears (two weeks!).

Nice, looks good and performs great I bet. Who is Toddy? and at what shop? From central CA and looking to get some work done on my car.

The brakes look like standard ACR/ Stoptech rotors and pads?

Yeah I said that wrong. All new acr rotors. The pads are brembo racing pads...which I believe are from the acrx. I could be getting that mixed up. It's a long parts list. It was also done in 2 parts as he found some more things that needed work. Regardless, they stop well. 👍 I would have to find it, but I believe you are correct.
