New track video. I just upgraded the sway bars to the TA sways and they made a big difference. The car felt more planted and did not roll around near as much, very happy with that upgrade. Next upgrade will be a better set of tires, I have a hard time keeping the stock Pirelli's from sliding all over the place. I'm thinking stepping up to the Corsas since I do drive 90% street and see how those do. I only got two videos (before my battery died) and they were of my first two rounds on this new track, I had better sessions later in the day once the traffic cleared out a bit. This video I don't think I had a single clear lap without getting held up. This track is crazy too, it was built as a road/track to get around the island and they closed it down for a while, but now it's back open. There are crossroads and stop signs you can see in the video and they block off traffic when there is an event. It was a lot of fun, but it was extremely bumpy down the back straight, so much so that a few times flat out my helmet hit the roof. I'm still pretty new to all of this, but it's getting more and more addicting. There were a lot of Challengers there. Two Hellcats and several SRT's. I caught most of them with no issues, but there was one that would walk away a little in the straight, but I caught him up quickly in the corners. You can see one White Challenger with the rear tire smoking trying to hold the corners at one point in the video. Enjoy.

I see your thread was moved from the Gen V forum. I think these kind of threads are useful there where they'll be broadly seen and hopefully inspire others to look into the sport, and discover what Team Viper was so passionate about designing into every Gen V. I suspect this forum isn't on most general member's radar.

It's just a GoPro Hero4 Black. It's set on 720p 60FPS. I was going to bump it to 1080, I don't have anything that will display 4k yet, but I wanted to get several sessions out of the card and the 1080 files would take up more room. Turns out it didn't matter because I killed the battery anyway after two sessions. I think I left it on in between. It takes great videos.

Just with the standard GoPro suction cup mount stuck to the inside of the windshield. The camera case can mount directly to the suction cup mount without any other pieces needed. The camera is upside down so just make sure to change the setting to where it will flip the image automatically and it works out good. I also use the regular door on the case with the cutout on it so you get better sound. I used to try to mount it on the outside of the car, but the wind noise is so bad, you can't hear the exhaust or anything over it. I don't have a multi camera setup, so this seems to work the best. I know some people have multiple cameras and they can use the audio from the inside one, while switching to the video from the outside ones in the software.

cool do you have a pic from the dash view? Does it interfere with visibility?

No pics, but I mount it as high up on the windshield as I can and just left of the rear view mirror, it's right in line with the mirror. I don't notice it much at all really. I imagine you could mount it same way but on the right side of the mirror and it would be completely out of the way.

It depends on your intended use of the video file. For coaching, it's most useful mounted behind on top of the plastic hump between the seats. It captures the driver's input along with view out the front windshield. If you align your passenger mirror and the camera's field-of-vision properly you can catch cars approach the rear.

You can use low cost programs like Trackaddict running your phone to collect ODB2 data via Bluetooth to log data. Use a program like Dashware to perform the telemetry data overlay on your video. PM if you want to see samples.

Very good point, I am just trying to get a good quality video of the sessions. But if you are remotely interested in overlays and data analysis, there are better options. Please forgive me for derailing this thread a bit. Forget the phone GPS, I use Garmin GLO, cost ~$100. It uses GPS + GLONASS for greater accuracy. Theoretical sampling rate is 10Hz vs 1Hz on the phone.

Nearly every east coast track is like this. The track out at Road Atlanta T12 is basically the wall, every corner at mosport has wall within in few feet, and the armco at Watkins Glen is known as "the blue bushes." You learn not to go off track real fast.
