Ceiling height for lift with 2 Vipers

What do you need as a minimum as far as ceiling height when using a 4 post with 2 Vipers ?

I realize that it may change a bit depending on what brand and style lift but I want to see if I'm close to having enough room

    Thanks for any feedback

Right at 9 feet, like you said depending on lift.

I had 11' 6" in a previous garage...viper on top and Toyota 4Runner on the bottom, with room to spare.

102.5 inches...4 post lift with a coupe Gen II or IV or V) on top and one underneath..verts are no problem at all. Max height controlled by grade 8 pins, must sit on roller stool to work.

Been servicing our Vipers this way for 12 years. Brakes and tires are done on adjacent midrise lift.

Obviously, I refused to alter my garage !

The total height of the two vehicles plus 8-12 inches for the ramp and room to set the latches.

I've done it with 9' before. It works, but 11'+ is optimum.

The 4 post I looked at with all measurements (ramp height, my gen 2 viper height, and room to stand under comfortably) was 10.5 feet. Just under 10 feet needed to park my 3 series under it. So I built my garage will 10' wall since the incline of the roof the center was almost 12'. The post were only 7.5,' viper 4', ramps 5.5".

Mine is 8'9" and it fits but just barely.

    Thanks for all the responses

I have 9 feet, so it sounds like it would be tight.

For those that are running close to 9', what brand lifts are you using ?

    Thanks

Cytech Double Park 7000...designed to my specs...built in 2002 in Wichita, KS and brought to us assembled, then installed by the factory team. While I was worried about project, Cytec folks could not have been nicer. It went perfectly !!

I do not know if they are still in business...seems like original owner planned to retire several years ago.

Quality lift. Gen 2 underneath, bottom of ramps 51.5 inches sitting on the latches. Top of ramp is 55.5 inches. Assuming a viper on top is 49 inches that add up to 104.5 inches. My lift needs 2.5 inches to unlock the latches, Total is 107inches so 9 ft will work

I have a Direct Lift with a 10' ceiling. I have room to walk under but you will have to duck. It's 5' 9" to the lowest part of the ramps.

10'6" here. I agree 9 foot is probably you minimum.

Just added mine 3 months ago. Cost if you are interested:
    -8000 pound Lift $2995 delivered/installed
    -Garage track alteration $375
    -Liftmaster 8500 opener $300 (I installed)

Just for a reference I have an 11' ceiling in my garage with my Viper GTS on the lift. I am 6' tall and can still walk under the lift without hitting my head and my wife can park her Subaru SUV under it with quite a bit of space between the room and lift.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Dont think I want to jam a lift in there. While it sounds like it can be done, it seems a bit to tight for comfort

Considering what it would cost to raise the roof (I got a quote and it was up there) it would make more sense to build another bay next to the existing garage and put an 11 or 12 foot ceiling in there. I think that will be my approach and I will just have to wait for that to come together
