Smile New to the Viper Community hello

    Hey all,

Just wanted to say hi to this community. I joined this forum earlier today but have been spectating this forum for a while for information of which is plentiful. I'm fairly new to the Viper family (bought my first one 15 months ago) and have loved it since. I'm based in Broward County (Ft Lauderdale), FL and and now I'm on my second Viper. My first one was a 2014 GTS and after a few track days decided on upgrading to a 2016 TA 2.0. I maybe get to put 50 miles a week on the car because I travel often for work but when I can, I try to put 6-12 track days in a year. My home track is Homestead Motor Speedway (HMS) and Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) of which I've run on both tracks already in the Vipers but I'm hoping to get up to Sebring and Daytona sometime next year as the events become available.TA2.jpgIMG_7527.JPGIMG_7528.JPG

Hopefully I attached the pictures of my current ride properly for all to see. A couple of them are screencaps from the last track day hence the poor quality.

Anyways, I hope to catch you folks around the forum. Cheers!

Welcome! Always great to see Vipers enjoyed on track. That was a quick change within 15 months. Do you notice much difference on track?

Welcome, beautiful car and you are lucky to have lots of great tracks to choose from in your area!

Why yes I did, first time out in the TA 2.0 vs the GTS I dropped lap times at the same track (HMS) by about 4 seconds and consistenly. Some of the drop time was driver mod confidence improvement but the car does have better turn in (less understeer in the same conditions) as the GTS. My 14 GTS had the TA Aero package already with the sidewinder wheels, Pirelli Corsas, so it was essentially a kitted out 14 TA. But the TA 2.0 minor aero improvements front and rear of the car plus the brake cooling ducts I added from the ACR, plus the stiffer X-Brace up front, plus the better tuned suspension and slight weight reduction does provide better handling on the track, although the improvement is marginal compared to an already great car in the GTS.

I'm going to try and make it to that. I'll be in Ocala that Thur-Sat and have to drop a buddy at the Sanford airport for his Sunday flight. I think I'll stop by the house and grab the car and come up.
They just re-opened that after it was closed for a few years.

Trying to remember if i have seen an all black acr yet, that thing is sinister

An all black ACR-E was sold from University Dodge in SE FLorida where I bought my last two about a year ago and it's a local owner but I've never seen him around. Apparently the GM that orders the Vipers has a thing for black and orders 50% of his Vipers in all black. I'm the sucker that bought two of them despite preferring a different color but I'm a sucker for deals more than I am for colors.... such a pain to keep clean though black is. It's better now though that I added Nano-hide (NH7) to protect the finish and paint swirls (holograms) and a SunTek Clear bra to protect the front, hood, mirros of the vehicle from chipping from road/track debris.

Welcome and congrats on the 2.0, in my opinion it's just about the perfect model, for weekend track warrior duty and driving compromise, it's an amazing combo setup, it's been very tempting to snag one. And great job representing on the track, love to vipers out there!

    Congrats and welcome!

I'm planning a trip to South Florida this winter/early spring for some track time. Do you recommend HMS over PBIR?

HMS is a better experience overall due to it being full high class proffessional track.... I mean you have pits w/ power, great fast track for Vipers ( few stock production cars can keep up), nice facilities, longer track than PBIR. PBIR is a nice track but lacks the facilities/pits of HMS. Also PBIR is a tire shredder.... long sweeping corners eat the front left especially. The main straight at PBIR let's the Viper put car lengths between it and the GT3RS's
