    New GTS owner

Well last weekend I became a Viper owner. I purchased a very clean, all original, stock 1997 Viper GTS with only 18k miles. Since I was a kid this was my dream car and in this exact color combo. I collected a number of models of these things and still have them packed away somewhere haha.

Anyway here is a few pics of her from the day I picked it up. Looking forward to getting to know you all and talking about these amazing cars!

What a beauty! I'm sure that is most people's favorite color for a Viper. I know it is mine. You're gonna love that thing

Nice!!! Make sure you follow-up with all the essential "must have" items that are known to leave you stranded. Power steering pulley/bracket, radiator hoses. I made some videos on my youtube channel "boosted2k" about them and how to change them.

    Congrats and enjoy!

Ugh I know, so depressing. It is already home and in the garage... only got to drive it on my test drive then on and off the trailer. if the weather is not complete shit this weekend I plan to take it for a short cruise then put her away for the winter

It's a beauty car. Seems pretty rare to find the cars with the painted silver wheels. I just bought my 96. I've spent the last Month swooning over it haha

Year I have been wanting to do some more research about the painted wheels. Everything I see says it only came with polished wheels. Any input from anyone on this?

The quintessential classic Viper now and forever. Congrats. I had a B/W '97 as well.

Thank you both, This was the combo I wanted most! looked at a red one before this and couldn't do it due to only wanting the blue/white.

Oh they definitely came with the non polished wheels, but they are just super rare. Congrats if you got one, but do not worry , as it was a definitely one of the ways they came. Send me an email at billpemberton@woodhouse.com ( with your Vin number ) and I will get you confirmation on your beauty. Had a 96 GTS that I often wished I had not sold , but the one in my garage now seems to match your car quite well - just a bit newer is all, ha,ha.

you have no idea. It is just such a non ordinary looking car. Every time I walk through the garage I stare at it. Sometimes for a creepy amount of time. I have a cover for it but I have not put it on yet. I like to see it too much haha. Can't wait till spring so I can actually drive it some.

Actually a Gen IV Coupe is mega rare also ( I do not have one) , as this paint combo Dodge pretty much wanted to only do on special models , but with a change in personnel there was a brief opening in 2010 and around 10 were done before they cut off the orders. We had 4 of them and they have the wider stripes , but when you think about it, the combo was done in 96,97, 2006, 2010, 2013 and then sporadically with the One of Ones.

A legendary paint combo that has stayed popular for over 20 years.
