In all likelihood the order banks will be open for maybe 1-2 hours before selling out again so if you don't have your order into your dealer right now you should hurry up. Don't "have your order ready" because you might not hear when the orders are officially open until after they closed again. Have your order into your dealer with your deposit paid and in the system ready to go official as soon as FCA begins accepting orders again.

    Just my thoughts.

Don't worry, I already do, and I've had my order ready and with a dealer since October now.

I hope everyone else does too.

Unsure why GW gets all the heat. VE ordered more for stock than them. Been posted on social media and no ones said anything about it here.

It'll be interesting to see. May be correct. I wonder though, if GW hadn't ordered 130 at once then orders would never have closed with normal buyers. And here we are. Still, I'm playing it safe too, and ready and set. So ... how long from order to delivery? Ugh. My orig plan was to order by Sept for over the winter and delivery before spring, now, so much for spring, or early summer, oh well, no complaints as long as orders open.

LOL !!!!! What is an order bank? Does Dodge have a room of people sitting there ready to answer the phones like QVC or PBS pledge drive?

Sounds like some phrase out of the 70s. How old are you guys ?

That's right. There will be 24 people with head sets standing by and when they make the 56 Vipers left to order available, it will be over in 12 minutes flat.......dont blink or you will miss it.

There were more than 50 Canadian sold orders made.

Why open our window back up when there are outstanding orders?

Edited: Sounding too much like a Debbie Downer lol
The ordering window was only 10 days until it was abruptly closed. This was back in April(I think)

2018 Dodge Viper, Would you like to see it?
    By Emily Atkinson - December 2, 20160

Dodge Viper is a name that ‘rings a bell’ to each and every car enthusiast out there. From this, you can conclude that the vehicle has been present on the market since the beginning of time. Sorry to disappoint you but this is not the case with this venomous model. Dodge Viper was for the first time presented at the 1989 Detroit Auto Show and has since captured the hearts of many. Loved for his design and performance, this sports car has lived long enough to witness its demise.

2017 Dodge Viper MY was the last one to exit Conner Avenue Assembly plant. If you wish to order one, you still have time because, as we already wrote, high demand for what is thought to be the last generation of Viper, Dodge is going to manufacture more than it was originally planned.

The situation now looks opposite than it was just last year. The car that was a small seller now has high demand. This, of course, has all to do with 2017 MY being labeled as last of its kind. But people in Dodge and its parent company FCA together with Viper lovers now have a little something to think about. Is there a space in the market for new Viper, maybe 2018 Dodge Viper?

    Source:motortrend.com
Main reasons for discontinuation of Viper were low selling, failing to meet safety regulations and expectations that Vipers 8.4-liter V-10 tuned to deliver 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque would fail to meet gas emission standards that are going to be stricter from the beginning of 2018.

From a position where Viper and we stand now, things have changed. Few months have passed, and Viper now has high, not low demand. Safety standards are being followed with every other Dodge and FCA model, so this could be done with Viper too. The only thing left is the question of the powertrain.

The current engine is good but old. Even if weren’t for discontinuation this powertrain would have to be discarded. The reason is simple. All of the FCA models are slowly being transferred to modular Alfa Romeos RWD architecture that debuted with Giulia. This platform would mean that Viper must ditch the V10.

No V10, no problem! Challenger, Barracuda, and Charger are all being treated to Ferrari’s twin-turbo V6 that has over 600hp, at least that is what rumors are implying. Same could be done with Viper.

With the new platform, new engine and recent growth in popularity 2018 Dodge Viper sounds like a real possibility. What do you say, is there room for new Viper.

Two phrases that should never be associated with Vipers. "Future collectable" and "Final edition".
It'll be back. Car manufacturers never let a well known nameplate die.

Took them 34 years to bring back the "Challenger" as we knew it back in the 70's.

Here's to our vipers appreciating in value over the years then.

Probably because the majority of our orders were of the actual Dodge Final Edition cars with a few 1 of 1's, and others thrown in which kept the 1 of 1 ordering banks open for customer spec'd purchases.

Careful using the term "order banks". Your choice of verbiage will lead to scorn from a guy who once owned a Gen 2 for eight years and sold it five years ago.

Honestly, if they bring back a variant and it is a 700HP V8S or V6TT, does anyone even want it to be called a Viper? I don't!

Let that new model be called something else and build its own heritage. Nothing wrong with that at all. If no V10, then do the Viper name right and just retire it. It has earned that honor!

I agree with you 100%. The last thing I want to see is a TT V6 "Viper".

Keep in mind that everything is shut down over there - so even if they wanted to open the ordering system, there's nobody there to do it...

I watched this the other day again for the third or fourth time over the years and it really speaks to significance of the V10 engine configuration to the identity of the car.

This is where we'll have a split in the community. In my 17 yrs of owning vipers, I couldn't care less how many cylinders it has. I got into them because they are America's 'exotic' and beats everything on the track. If they release a new viper with whatever power plant, that beats $1M+ super cars around the track and sets 13+ track records again, I'd be looking hard at it. This is the issue I have with collectability etc., if a new gen6 blows the perf doors off prev gens, then I dunno, I'm not sure the world endears the v10 like a portion of the club does. It'll be interesting. Meanwhile, I'm really disappointed ordering didn't reopen sooner, but pulling the trigger now as I'm tired of waiting, I just wish dealers had ordered a few more silver cars, oh well.
