Thank you Capital CJD in Raleigh and FCA

As a change of pace I thought it would be nice to post a positive note here on the forum. As some of you may recall from my other posts I have had quite the maintenance headache on my 2013 since I purchased it. Wind noise, torn door flag seals that took months for parts, two bad window regulators and new glass, transmission/clutch noise and of course the multiple recalls. Yes I purchased my car used from a dealer in Arlington, Texas. A pre-purchase inspection was completed by a separate SRT certified dealer and the car was deemed to be in good health. The only thing that did not happen during the inspection was separating the transmission and a visual inspection of the clutch. Oil tested clean, compression tests came back perfect. I purchased the car with 7800 miles on it and have put over 5K on it since May. The only amount of oil consumed is the small amount that ends up in the catch can on the passenger side.
After my purchase I moved back to the Raleigh, NC area and I located Capital CJD from the forums as they are a supporting vendor. Two members of the VOA also work at Capital.
The staff at Capital have been second to none. They were able to source door flags that I had been waiting months for within two weeks. Window rattle problem? Solved with new glass and regulators. They even reimbursed me the window tint that I needed to have redone because of the new glass.
The next big issue I was facing was a noise that was coming on clutch release once the car had become warm. There was a ton of speculation as to what the cause would be. I was thinking a throw out bearing as there was no way a clutch should have been worn out with only 12K miles on it. The only issue was we didn't know how the car had been driven by the previous owner. I was very nervous about having Capital open up the transmission as warranty clearly states that friction material such as clutch plates are not covered under warranty. The staff at Capital suggested I contact SRT and make them aware of my concern and continuing maintenance headaches with my car. I don't know how it happened or what strings the excellent staff at Capital CJD had to pull with SRT, but a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and slave cylinder were all installed for free and covered by FCA under warranty.
A heartfelt thank you to Capital CJD for your excellent customer service and for being my advocate. You didn't sell me the car and could have had a much different attitude in regards to fighting for me and making sure I was a happy FCA customer.
FCA. Thank you for taking care of a loyal MOPAR customer. I have had a lot of cars in my short life and not once has a manufacturer ever stepped up the way that you have. FCA you now have a customer for life and Capital CJD will be the only dealership that ever gets my business.

Nice to see a good post like this for a change. I have (and still have) some headaches with mine as well (nothing as many as you though). There are good dealers out there.

Glad to hear FCA and a dealer has been willing to step up and take care of your issues.

Despite my distaste with how FCA has been handling the spun bearing issue with the Gen V motors, they certainly proved to me that they were willing to go above and beyond to make things right with my problem riddled 2013 GTS. Like you, I had purchased mine used only to be surprised with failure upon failure in my 8 month ownership. FCA fixed everything under warranty and eventually bought my car back as a lemon.

Hope all of your issues get put to rest so you can enjoy your snake!

Nice post and nice to hear a great owner experience and great dealer service. People usually take time to post bad experiences, thanks for taking the time to post a great one!

    Thank you Dman.
I just wanted to post something positive in here because honestly reading negative post after negative post is starting to wear on me. I get that these cars are quirky and have been maintenance nightmares for some (I include myself here) the simple fact is that they are sensitive cars. I just don't see how we are supposed to expect the reliability of a Honda with a car that has the performance of a race car. Yes some parts could be made better. Window regulators for example. Yes the flow of replacement parts could be faster. I made a conscious and deliberate decision to purchase my Viper. Why? Because I wanted to own what I think will be the last naturally aspirated American made super car. If I keep all of that in mind and I keep my eye on my end goal, show patience and treat others with respect then I know I will eventually get to a point where I will own a trouble free version of the last great naturally aspirated American super car.

Got my 2015 through them. Called made an offer, 30 minutes later called me back and I was on a flight to NC to pick it up. Even picked me up at the airport! Transaction was a breeze.
