    2 post lift

I have a 2 post lift and can't really get the Viper to work on it. I'm assuming the 4 wedge points is where I need to lift from but my arms on the lift just don't match up. Is there any other safe place under the car to position my arms so I can get the car in the air?

My 2 post Mohawk work fine with my Gen V. Where's the problem with yours, front or rear?

Need some pics. Arms not long enough for the way the lift is set up?

Have no issues with mine...it is however low enough that I need to jack up the car manually to get the lift arms under it.

I believe the OP has a stationary 2 post. Those are a problem. Your maxjax is a wonderful thing due to its mobility to put it where needed.

I have a stationary 2 post. I can position the car so the front to arms hit the jack points, but the rear will not line up. What I do is place a 2x4 that goes from the edge of the belly pan to the edge of the side sill. The board is placed just forward of the back edge of the floor pan. It sounds confusing I know but I can't find a pic of the bottom of a Viper in order to draw a diagram.

If some one has a bottom pic post it and I will show you what I mean.

Whenever mine had to go to a dealer, they used 2x4 blocks to drive up on to clear the arms, was a job to get the boards to line up. One guy had an issue with the pads meeting the frame points and used a thick phone book as a shim. What a pita. That's why I have a 4 post.

When buying a 2 post lift for home use, many garage floors are not poured thick enough to be safe for the two post lifting the car, may start to shift and even sag...no problem with a 4 poster and 4 posters can be moved around the garage , I find that as years go buy, you want the 4 post lift in another area for awhile...My $.02

Thanks to Steve M for the bottom pic. Look at the yellow "boxes". They are positioned just behind the floor ribs and line up with the rear edge of the floor pan. They are are almost full width between the belly pan and the side sill. On the inside of the car there is a structural member where the 2x4 is placed. I have seen no bending or flexing at all when I use my hoist.

Been doing it this way since 2003. My lift is a Greg Smith Equipment lift (7000 lb cap.) Bought it new, have had it for 9 years. It gets used a lot between my fleet of cars, my wife's fleet and then all of my kids stuff too.

Thanks for the information, my lift is a Greg Smith 10,000 and I can get the fronts to line up but not the rear and vise versa. I was real close in one position but off just enough I didn't want to try it. I figured there had to be another way, thanks for the picture.

Looks like your posts are a lot farther away from the car than mine. That would solve my problem.
