Key Fob unlock lock functions won t work but if close by it will still allow entry

When I press the lock, unlock, truck, or panic buttons there is no visual or audible response. However, if I am close to the car the door will unlock and allow me entry. To lock the car I have to hit the lock button inside.

My 2nd key fob doesn't have this probably, so I imagine it's the fob itself. Could it be due to a low battery, or perhaps I should have it reprogrammed?

Try a new battery first. My experience has been the batteries don't last very long.

Grab one at your local gas station or Target and save the time and shipping from eBay.

Yes, while not as common as a AA or AAA size, I'd bet they are much more common than C or D battery sizes these days, and are readily available.

If you are close to a Home Depot or Lowes, its a very common size battery for remote garage door openers.

If battery change is ineffective see my thread on key fon not detected. New fobs & WIN module replacement were my fix

yet another sales tactic in retail used to just get you in the door, and notice what else the seller offers
