OCT Texas Mile Event Now with Paxton Blower

See the April event here: LINK

Went back to the mile this October, results not quite what I wanted, but after talking to a gen 2 viper out there making 150rwhp more then me(and running the same 179mph), I didn't feel so bad. Both runs I had a head wind, and it was 90+ degrees. No where near the conditions I had when I went earlier this year in April(60's and 20-30mph tail wind). I'm thinking my IAT's just go real hot sitting in the staging lanes. Car just didn't pull like it does on the street.

    Few upgrades to the car..

Added some sound/heat material to the car, world of difference.

Also added some F-14's with pilot sports up front, and R888 in the back:

No pictures, but I also added some M&M long tubes with "low restrictive cats" and Corsa Cat back.

Got a polished paxton setup, with a bunch of A&C performance goodies. I ended up having to overnight some 60lb injectors as I was running out of fuel.

    A&C pulley

    A&C heat exchanger upgrade

Blower installed and A&C catch can

Had Todd from A&C remote tune to 728rwhp and 659tq on a Mustang Dyno

Overall the car is a lot of fun, I went ahead and ordered a Devils Own Water/Meth kit to help with the IAT's during the summer and long runs.

oh, and got interviewed by Drive SRT... hopefully I didn't look too stupid on camera lol.

Car looks great! Did the sound deadening material lower the road noise in the cabin significantly? I was looking into laying down that same matting when I redo the interior/stereo.

Sound and Heat, i normally drive with the top down, but with it up I could tell a good difference.

Great runs and thanks for sharing. Temperature and wind direction have major impact on these standing mile events. The gearing becomes critical as well, especially for the power curve on a centrifugal supercharger.

For reference, here are my results for my silver vert:
    - 176.1mph (headers, stock exhaust, tune, shorter rear tire, http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/...nce-Experiment)
    - 191.5mph (above, plus GregGood heads/cam, A&C Remote tune, http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/...5mph-All-motor)
    - 195.0mph (above, plus ACR-x exhaust, Arrow Throttle body, tune update http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/...95.0-All-motor

190's is what I was expecting, especially after running 172mph N/A back in April. After talking with the Gen 2 making 850rwhp and running the same mph, I really didn't feel that bad.

I doubt I'll take the viper back out to the mile. I was supposed to take my 15 mustang making over 1100rwhp on the same mustang dyno, but someone decided to run a stop sign in front of me the Sunday before the event

You need to address the gearing. You certainly have enough RWHP to get to 190mph. I put in the 2010 5th gear (.796 from stocker .741 in my 2008). I ran smaller rear tires on mine. I used a set of fronts on the rear which gave me approximately 3.33 rear gearing. We were hitting redline at the finish at 191. 625rwhp.

Bought a hard top too, damn thing was gonna tear up otherwise. Dropped the front low to the ground, got us another 1mph. And wrapping the front in clear bra finally put us over the 190 mark.

    Thanks for the tips!

I doubt Ill ever take the car back out there again. The car to me is just a cruiser, never really intended to race it.

As far as I know, the car is "stock"

With that said, when i started installing the blower. We noticed the car already had a paxton on it, corsa cat back, b&m shifter, it had long tubes(or atleast the exhaust manifolds have been off), etc.

The car made really good power on a mustang dyno, which this one is known to the the "heart breaker" around here. We kinda wonder if it has a cam in it.
