Can anybody identify what this hose is

What is this hose? Seems like it's slowly pulling off.

I have a track day coming up and I'm wondering if I should clamp it.

It seems like the braided line is slipping off.

This is the passenger side of the engine compartment with the hose going from the front of the valve cover to the middle. I'm assuming it's a vac Hose of some type.

Looks like the PCV? I think that braiding is just an outer sheath for abrasion protection.

I find it silly they used black tape and some adhesive to hold the braided covering on.

It looks horrible.

It connects the 2 valve covers together i think.

Mine did the same thing. I wrapped it in some of that DEI titanium heat wrap while i was installing the headers. I'll take a pic for you later. Looks a lot better!

You can get a 7/8" spring hose clamp to help secure it. I found some at my local Orchard Supply Hardware store. The manufacturer is Hillman lot# Ho2290460.
Did you look into the oil catch can from DSE? Always found oil on the passanger side of my catch can, that otherwise would get dump'd into the intake track.

Yes they did, and yes it does. I just looked at mine a few minutes ago when I put the car back in the garage, and mine looks exactly the same.

That hose goes to the intake

It's the sand suction tube connected to the block, new on 17 models and retrofitted via r28 recall

There is a hose on either side. Driver side goes from the valve cover to the airbox, passenger side goes from the PCV valve to the intake manifold, both are part of the PCV sysyem.

Thank you that is certainly one way to improve the hose, especially with heat shrink clamps. Those might be a good option for OEM as well.

I can't wait to meet the guys at Bondurant in a couple of weeks to ask them what they have experienced with their vipers concerning what has broken and failed due to all of the track time those T/A's and ACRS get.

Once I start tracking the car more, I'm definitely going to install that catch can.
