Who run s with headers and no cats

Opinions on running cat-less with headers? I'll be installing my Kook's full exhaust probably this weekend and keep wondering if it's going to be too loud. I've read guy's also install a small billet muffler instead of a cat to help with sound. The guy I bought the system from said it's no too loud under normal driving but obnoxious at WOT which is fine with me. I'm also doing a CAI and PCT tune. Anyone have an in car video with a cat-less set up like mine?

You'd probably be better off to ask in the GenIII/!V forum

I think this could apply to about anyone with a Viper. I figured most people would frequent the General area? Granted the coupes may have more sound deadening but that won't really protect you from drone, actually it might make it worse.

My '98 is extremely loud under all driving conditions with headers and no cats.

    Good point
I run headers and no cats on my '01 coupe. I think it sounds great!! My neighbors might think otherwise though....
I have only found drone at 2,000 RPM, and nowhere else.

I just installed full Belangers with cats on my Gen V. The cats are only like 4" long. The exhaust is wonderful at WOT. Cruising around town it is pretty damn loud. Its hard to explain. Its so deep i can feel a pressure difference in the car around 1500rpm. Makes me yawn or something. Idle is amazing. I definitely would not want it louder.

I remember you, I was Baracuda340s and my 68 Cuda was the banner car for the website "forabodiesonly" when it first started. I was on Moparstyle a lot too.

Anyway thanks to everyone for the input. I have a few hotrods with strong motors and exhausts so I'm sure I'll be happy just don't want an irritating drone so I can't have a conversation or hear the radio.

I'll post a vid when I get it running. I'm hoping to make 50hp ATW. ( SCT canned tune from Torrie; K&N CAI; Full exhaust ) My buddy has a 2007 GT500 with mods that pulled me in stock form. I probably will still lose but I'll sound better than him.

I also think you would be better off asking this where GenIII/GenIV people could answer. Having GenII folks chime in is going to be drastically different as there exhaust exits the rear. The amount of noise is going to be considerably different when it's right outside your window. Another portion this is some people with side exit also claim the exhuast smell is amplified when running no cats.

Running headers and Mopar race exhaust (without cats) and direct side exit. Also with a Paxton. Sound level is about the maximum I can accept. The headers did not increase the sound level, but changed the quality (for the better). This also a Gen III

I've got an 04 with Belangers and no cats. Yes it's loud but it's not bad unless you jump on it. We were in the car for about 4 hours Saturday and the wind noise was more annoying than the exhaust.
