Happens sometimes. I haven't lost a stud on my Gen 5s yet but I did lose one on my 09 ACR. Pain in the ass. Not sure if the Gen 5 is the same but I could not figure out how to change one with out taking the hub off. The new stud would not clear the spindle no matter what I did.
This was the Right-Rear wheel, I purchased the vehicle used back in December with 2000 miles...... I don't think it was cross threaded either, it does look seized in my opinion. I do everything I can to keep away from Dodge Dealer, but the few times I had taken it, I go to a local Dodge Dealer in Fort Worth......Autonation dealer here the area.
I wonder if someone slammed it with a torque gun. Since it is used, you never know.
i bought my 2015 ta2 brand new never slammed with impact wrench but i did use one but not up to torque setting just to snug up and then use torque wrench and always started lugs by hand to assure not cross threaded. i do track my car alot and happened after probably 3-4 events, so wheel probably removed 8-10 times. since then no impact wrench at all a tiny bit of antisieze and no more problems.
i clean with wheels on, with wash mit i am able to get hand all the way back there, then inch car forward and get the rest
Loll^
I had all 6 replaced on my front driver wheel. I impact them off but always hand put the nuts on. I had noticed the threads on that one wheel getting shiney every time I take it off, I think one of the lugs was bad and as it got swapped around to different studs it kept messing them up. The final straw was when I was removing one with my impact it fought like crazy coming off. When I put the nut back on it tightened up well before it ever touched the wheel so I knew it was done.
My previous 13 had the same issue with one lug, the first time I ever took it off it FOUGHT the impact like crazy.
This is a pretty common problem with vehicles that are tracked , as the heat generated and the constant torqueing finds studs sometimes breaking. There can be a lot of reasons , though at this point it is just a case of getting it fixed.
Part of the reason many trackrats end up getting a set of ARP extended length studs for their machines. Best of luck , and been there with this issue, so understand your frustration.

He was just being a Wheel Stud as the heading of this thread suggests!
