I just bought a full Kooks exhaust system with no cats. I also plan to get a tuner of some sort? Been looking at Roe Racing for that.
Has anyone installed the Kooks headers? Looking for tips. I do have my own lift.

Don't they have a video on their website for sound? Sounded pretty damn good on there IIRC. Let us know how it works out
They have a video on youtube and it sounds mean.
I got instructions via email on the install from Kooks. It's a bit of work, I'm glad I have a lift, I wouldn't want to do this job on my back.
I just did it over the weekend and to be honest to do it on the ground was probably nicer. I was up and down probably 30 times. Had I had to climb a ladder every time would have gotten exhausting(ahaha) and putting the lift up and down every 3 minutes would have gotten old.
I removed both motor mounts, and the starter. I'm not sure of the configuration of the Kooks, but I was able to re-use the original heat shields on the American Racing headers I installed.
I'm hoping I can reuse my heat shields as well. I plan to tackle it this weekend. Kook's has me removing the brake booster and steering shaft too. They want me to raise the motor and push it side to side when installing headers from the top. If this is the case I won't be able to move the lift once the motor is raised and the motor mounts are out. I'm not sure how I'm going to do it yet? The lift may not be ideal for this job???
I did lift the engine a bit with a floor jack and a block of wood under the pan. I didn't have to move the steering shaft, nor the booster. The ARH's went in easily from the bottom. I realize installation will be different between the two brands, but I'm glad I did mine on the ground. I'm certain with a lift it would have been more of a hassle, especially with the lift arms being in the way at all times.
To be honest I've never had this car in the air so I have no idea how much room is underneath. I'm sure our headers are not that much different if you have a Gen 3 or 4. I'm assuming yours are long tube as well. Thanks for the info though, I'll take a hard look at going in from underneath first. Sounds a lot easier.
A lift is just about always your friend. The thought of crawling under any car after owning and properly utilizing a lift is crazy. Yes there are times when the lift itself may be in the way, 4 post vs. 2 post, but it's not the case here.
If I can install them from below we're using the lift for sure.
