    Hood weatherstripping coming off

While cleaning the inside of the hood last week I noticed that rubber weatherstripping on both sides of the hood is coming off:

Apparently the weatherstripping was attached using cheap double-sided tape with life expectancy of a fruit fly.

I am wondering of anyone else is having this issue?

Also, can anyone recommend a good brand of double-sided tape to re-attached the rubber?

What year is your car? I had mine replaced under warranty without a bit of trouble. After the new one was installed at the dealership, I noticed that it was trying to fold when the hood was latch down tight. What I did on mine, was put a piece of masking tape over the end closed the hood for several days and the weatherstrip compressed enough where I can open and close it now without trouble.

Noticed yesterday that my 2016 is doing the exact same thing. Not sure it's worth the hassle of a trip to the dealer, hopefully I can find a better solution myself.

You'll tape your 6 figure super car back together & you'll like it. Lolz sigh.

Must be the same adhesive they use for the hoodliner? Mine doesn't want to stick in the middle. I wonder if loctite (or similar) super glue would take care of it.

My 2014 was fixed by dealer in 2014. All good since.

My 2014 TA's weather stripping started to sag at the center of the hood, but it didn't bother me enough to take it to the dealer. Haven't noticed an issue on my 2014 anodized though.

Looking at it briefly last night the driver and passenger side seemed to interact differently between the hood edge and wheel weatherstripping when closing the hood. One side seemed to go together nicely, the other seemed to pull the hood weather stripping back more, which could be causing the issues ek1 is seeing if extreme enough. I did not have time to figure out why they were behaving differently but perhaps it is variances in the alignment of the hood and/or weather stripping.

Mine did the same thing with 200 miles on it. Bought some Gorilla Glue and that held it on better than whatever the factory used. Never came undone again. Make sure to buy the gel formula.
