    10k maintenance schedule

Decided to try the 'Drive Dodge' mobile app to see what my next maintenance item is. Anyone here recently cross 10k miles and do the rear axle replacement themselves?

I think some folks have changed it twice....before 10,000 miles...

we talking the shafts? the diff? all of it? I cant imagine this car needs an entire new rear axle every 10,000 miles

Yep, mine was changed at about 10,500! (Under warranty!)

Of course, they are referring to fluid.

How did you get it done under warranty?

The whole diff was replaced under warranty. Sorry, should have been more clear.

Is it really factory recommended? Seems a bit early.

If you never changed it I would do it ASAP. Mine looked awful after the first 500 miles break in.

Would change the diff fluid Pete. We often recommend changing prior to that as many folks do drive their vehicles enthusiastically and with all the torque of the Viper, early is just good preventive maintenance in my estimation.
