Ok so recently I've noticed that when I start the car it ideal weirdly for first few seconds, it turns over but almost sounds like it's going to cut off. Any ideas?

I think it could be the original
battery by 2 too
Vipers eat batteries if left,
I just replaced mine with an Oddyssey 1500, its a mega battery, flips the engine like a fiat 500

Why is it that vipers are so problematic with batteries?
Sounds like a battery to me.
Don't buy a cheap one when you replace
Well if nothing else, it takes a whole lot of oomph to turn over that big ass motor. So you don't get much warning. As for why they vampire batteries while sitting, I don't really know. I've never had a problem but the longest I have let the car sit is about 3 weeks.
The battery is on trickle charge when not being used, so it never goes flat.
Cells do die, even on a trickle charge.
I buy my batteries here

True, Fatboy, no battery is perfect even if kept charged or whatever. Some go sooner than others. Just the nature of batteries.
Strangely it stopped doing it, last few times on startup no problem whatsoever just like normal. Could it be that fuel injectors were a bit dirty?
I know you can buy that Injector cleaning additive, I have used it before on my Diesel vans but not sure if it works on Viper Engines? And to be honest I have never noticed the difference with the Van performance after using it! Most new fuels have cleaning additives in them now anyways.
So when the car has sat for a few days and you go to start it for the first time, When you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump motor, does it make a abnormal sound? How old is the fuel in the tank?
True. If it's been a while there is no fuel in those rails. Some people cycle the key a few times and I think someone came up with a module for that too where it ran the pump an extra 2 seconds I think.
I've refuelled several times in last few uses so the petrol has always been power and fresh, not sitting in the tank longer than a few days. I am very sure that those aditives you can buy are just good marketing and not really any benefit, haven't tried them and not sure they are worth a go.
I'll have another listen but I think everything sounds normal with the fuel pump
Regardless of the ultimate true cause, with Vipers, owners should replace tires (oops tyres for UK) and batteries every 5-6 years. Even if you've removed them every night from your car and swaddled them in cashmere blankets and organic mare's sweat (yea, rather odd reference). 6 years = death for tires and batteries.

Totally agree on [B]tyres[B] never use old rubber on a car even if it has loads of tread. Is the gen 4 battery a side terminal too or is it a normal top terminal?
Not recommending Ultimate batteries, (some love them and others hate them), but this is the battery configuration:

Vote here for Sears Gold.
We can't get those Batteries in the UK![]()
My friend owns a masonry company and for as long as he can remember he has been running Sears die hards on his fleet. They don't mess around when it comes to batteries.
I replaced my battery with a Odyssey with free shipping thru Amazon it is very strong, Odyssey makes the top Sears batteries .. Also picked up a Antigravity Micro Start XP10 ( battery jumper ) it's small size easy stow in trunk.
