Hello Bruce! Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Regarding changing orders: Dodge does not allow any orders that are in "C" status for any cars (Ram trucks, Darts, Town and Countries and Vipers) to be changed at all with regards to specifications. They do this, I believe, because they need to order parts from the myriad of suppliers to fill the orders in a timely manor and if 2,400 dealers could change their orders it would be mayhem.

With that said, We are allowed to mark a "C" status car as a sold-order, and put the buyers name in the system. This does print their name on the vehicle windows sticker at the top. Nice touch for nostalgia and for your personal car.

I have created a thread that will keep all this updated. While I am running 3 dealerships (I also have Honda and Kia) I will do my very best to answer all the questions here. We have a dedicated Viper team of four people who can answer questions on the phone and have a more thorough conversation - if anyone prefers that method of communication. Ask for Mike Mokoff, Travis Williams, David Neal, and of course myself.

    Thanks for the great question!

    ~ Brad Wood

I've started a specific forum for questions about our dealership, our inventory, our events and general discussion.

We can order GTC in GTS trim in a color like this. My personal favorite GTC in GTS trim I have ordered is a "battleship grey solid" color in our ADVANCED AERO series. It's stunning with the carbon fiber trim in the AE package. All of our cars are updating today on our site, so tomorrow freshly released VIN's and photos will appear. Check out www.gerrywoodviper.com tomorrow mid-day.
Was considering wraping mine in the Gulf/Ford colors for a brief change of look a year ago, but decided against. Had I done it, I would have colored the front facia in the Gulf orange also, done the black on white numbers and Gulf logo's. Obviously I had a great (but failed) idea, as your ride looks absolutely outstanding!!!

Seriously if you can't find a car that is acceptable in that huge grouping of colors and choices you aren't really trying.

I do believe that this is just a marketing ploy......

Hey Frank - long time no see. I think there's a lot of truth to that - this certainly is getting a lot of notice, and it is getting people to move off their butts to order cars. We'll see what happens this time around when the fever subsides, though. My prediction is something similar to what happened in '10 and '11.....

To what end? I think it is exactly what it looks like. The dealership cornered the Viper market. they are a business in business to make money. Got to give them props

Slightly confused. Can you still order a custom color non-ACR Viper?

Yes you can Chipster. The One of One program is well alive and you can have your car spec'd any way except with ACR options. We have the One of One color books available to ship to you for your selection. You can go to the Viper configurator here http://www.drivesrt.com/viper/ and build it.

And that is why that planning should have started the moment information about the new UAW contract came out in October 2015 (1 year ago). Or it should have started after FCA made an official announcement on June 21st, 2016 (almost 4 months ago). Bad things come to those who wait.

By "shit on" do you mean, not being allowed to order the custom chosen color 2017 ACR that they wish to have it painted by the factory. No offense; but, this thread is about the most ludicrous 1st world problem I have ever heard of that actually pisses some people off. This "problem" would make a great Jalopnik article.

There are two ways to look at this situation. Each has positives and negatives. Surely everyone understands that. Why is it necessary to bash our fellow club members? It serves no point except to destroy our club.

It was the point of the 1 of 1 program. People bitched for almost 3 years about the 2013 roll out and here we are again with the exact same scenario all over again. Dealers loading up on cars while people that want to get cars can't.

Plus customization is more than just the color. Dropping $140,000 on a car, buying a dealers spec many aren't going to do.

It is a first world problem but that's the point of these forums.

Might as well buy a GEN V now, which ever one. Can not see a Viper model coming back anytime in the future, ever. FCA has demonstrated repeatedly that they just can't get it right in this $100k space. It is not for the company.

Prime example is right here. I get the supply change management issue on parts, he'll I deal with helping companies with they MES/MIS solutions up to their ERP systems. But in this case, it is a very small production car, all hand built and in its final year. A lot of the 1 of 1 program is custom paint and colors. No way on earth can you tell me Prefix is ordering all the paint for those pre orders now. That could be changed to an owner's specification and not affect anything. This is not a change in color for a Dodge painted car on the line of which 25,000 will be painted that color.

The more I think about this, the more it just does not seem right. Again I am really only blaming FCA. Gerry Woods can buy what they want, it is a gamble and a risk or a free enterprise market. May not like their custom choices but it is a free market. FCA however are proving out to be untrustworthy. Then again, could just be on a non corporation kick since it is 4am in Denver , I can't sleep and Comcast Cable TV is knocked out Nationwide in all major hubs.

Good luck to all the dealers, they shouldn't be blamed for the parts shortage, thats on Chrysler, Sold-out Vipers ? Chrysler can make Gen 6 and sell more.
