    New dash cam option

I'm interested to hear what people think about this new dash cam that's coming out next month:

    https://www.waylens.com

I can't find anything tha says it tracks lap times but I like how it has other data integrated into it. And depending on the size it may work well mounting it below the rear view mirror. I've mounted my Hero Session there (the mini cube one) and it worked well.

I funded their Kickstarter last year. They are running way behind schedule, but they started shipping large amounts of units finally. Waiting on mine.

I wonder though if the OBDII port adapter is going to be catch my shinbone.

I sold mine unopened and made about $100 on it. The OBDII dongle looked to be about 2 inches long, which was not the first design shown which was tiny. Going to be in the way of my clutching.

Yeah it is about 2 inches long, I plan on using a splitter cable that is low profile to move it up as well still provide a typical hookup for diagnostics.

    Watch this video:

    Horrible shake.

Also, none of the demo videos show any OBD data.

I'll wait until someone actually buys one and tests it out.

I am most likely going to go with AIM SmartyCam in the spring.

Purchased and installed in my Jeep for now until the snow is gone and either I take the copperhead out or the ACR-E arrives. Nice, clean, easy install. It's not as portable as I would have liked. You can purchase additional suction cup mounts as it isn't really a suction cup mount but more of light adhesive mount. You will also need to pull the OBDII and highlight dongle out and bring into a different car. So three things to move between cars if you want to. It really doesn't pull much from OBDII, just boost, engine temp, rpm. I'm sure there will be a software update to pull more in the future. The GPS is built into the suction cup mount and is 10Hz which is nice, the camera body houses the 9-axis motion sensor I believe. I'll have to try to upload a video later tonight showing the footage.
