    Gen 4 purchase Help please

Hello! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on my first viper. It is a stock 2008 coupe with 18,xxx miles, Original Tires, Private Party, clean title. Right now we are at $54k. It's local to me so I can avoid shipping. Can I get opinions on if this is a fair purchase price? Is there any other info I can give that will help you form an opinion on price? I'm just not sure and would like some owners to weigh in.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.....

I should also mention the car appears to be in great condition. No dings or damage that I could see.

Look under the car (best if on a lift) make sure there are no oil leaks, and no damage from running something over, price sounds good.

Sounds like a good deal on that car if it has been maintained. Obviously it has not been driven hard if it still has OE tires. Tires will be the first thing you need to get. Reach out to JonB at http://www.viperpartsrack.com/ for prices. I think he is the best deal going right now.

$54k is a very good price. Hardly driven with only 18k miles. Grab it!

As the others have stated, if it is a clean car buy it! Definitely a great price!

Most of you guys know more than I do but I feel it's a good deal if good condition...

Ryno is nervous about what KBB says for private party. I told him kbb isn't 100% accurate for these types of cars. If you guys could also share your input on that so its not just me saying it...

How's this... $54K for a clean GenIV with under 20,000 miles is a phenomenal deal!

LOL! Yes, I am nervous and showing my "newbie-ness" early here. Thanks for the input everyone!

I think you need to give me the complete information on who you are buying from so a buddy of mine looking to buy can check it out for you.

For some reason I swear the Venom Red cars seem to bring the least money.......

Seems more than fair if in good condition. New tires as others have said. Look for signs of abuse. Ask about maintenance records and history. Have a knowledgeable local Viper person check it out for you if you can. Are they a member of any club? Google the VIN, etc.

And, yes, KBB is not accurate for these types of cars.

Last of all good luck and welcome!

As has been said, you must do the full due diligence...it's a lot of money to spend if you make a mistake.

I ALWAYS recommend that the buyer arrange and pay for a full inspection at a Dodge dealership, preferably one with a real Viper Tech. Also, take an experienced Viper owner with you to this inspection. Take that opportunity to run VIN on Chrysler system. In addition, do Carfax and Autocheck as these three info sources have different strengths and weaknesses.

Plan on new tires...and, I would bet ALL fluids ned to be changed.

    Shortcuts are expensive !!

If car passes above, and you buy it...you will find it to be a great car ...fun and reliable.

That sounds like a great deal if everything checks out! I sold my gen 3 for that only about a year ago.
