    Eibach Springs or BC Coilovers

So I just put on my Sidewinder II's and noticed just how much my 2006 Copperhead Coupe needs an elimination of wheel gap. I have noticed some have gone the route of springs/lowering caps and others have gone new coilovers. I would prefer a non-ricer ride with good rebound and dampening but not going Moton's either due to $$$. Appreciate the inputs.

When I had my Gen3 I used eibach's and lowering caps from John B. My car was street only. If you track or plan on tracking, I would go with a good set of coilovers.

I havent tried either but I have read that eibachs and caps give you a pogo-stick ricer ride. Try the BC coilovers..

I went with MCS singles with eibach springs from Mark @ Woodhouse. Ride is massively improved and you pick your ride height as with the BC's. I think this is one of the ones where you get what you pay for. Photos below are 4" to bottom of frame rails up front and 4.5-4.6" in the rear.

Get with Mark at Woodhouse and go MCS singles if you want something economic but still extremely track-worthy.

MCS will allow you to adjust the ride height as well. MCS:

Put a little more gap in back for everyday driving.

This is stock suspension with lowering caps from JonB. The rake is good bit off from what is should be if you follow Mark's suggestions for track setup.

Thanks guys, appreciate all your inputs. Sounds like MCS is the way to go. I don't track the car but wouldn't mind an occasional auto-x day.

Keep them in stock when you decide Joe ;-) or if you have questions I'm always available. Thank you.

If you don't track the car why not just consider lowering caps alone?

Thanks Mark! Will give you a call tomorrow, on a conference call all day today (good times).

Because the hassle of disassembling the stock coilovers is not worth it to me to be honest.

Started on my car this morning, literally took 5 minutes to compress the spring and swap out the cap on the first one. Honestly a piece of cake with a spring compressor!

I will be at COTA Friday through Sunday, but will be more than happy to take your call Joe.

Mark, no need/rush to interrupt your track day time. I am leaving for Costa Rica Saturday and will be back next Friday, so I will give you a call when I get back.

The MCS ride quality and DD quality is SO MUCH better than stock.

Not that big of a deal. Could not find the right compression tool to do mine, and a shop here did them in 20 minutes for $80. Should have bought the right tool....

Once you get the fronts out, you can put that front bolt in "backwards" and not have the clearance issues if you have to do it again.

I have run all of the set ups motion, Penske, bc, eibachs/caps, and now mcs with remote canesters. Springs and cap will make your ride horrible, the bc are much better and for the price they can't be beat.

People I know who have BCs love em. I think bang for the buck is great. Obviously there are better options but you will get what you pay for. I would think for street and occasional track excursions, bc are fine.

this is my second set of BC. the stock was absolutely a turd. never seen rear shocks blown at 27k until now. springs have to be properly matched to the shocks they are on or they will ride like crap. $1100 for a set of coilovers is a good deal. had a set on my STI went over 80k on them....

I ran Eibachs without caps and it was slightly better than stock but the BC's offered a much improved ride over stock. I never ran any of the expensive setups so I can't compare. I also never wanted to go with the cap route because it limits the travel of the shock and just doesn't seem safe if you were to hit a large bump at high speeds, not to mention a bad ride. Here is a pic with BC's.

The stock suspension with lowering caps was a bit to pogostick-ish for me.

I am also running Eibachs and have no issue with the ride. Have the caps for sale on ebay
